I go to concerts by independent artists. I buy their CDs, and I have a little collection of older CDs.

I don't go to many concerts anymore but I used to do the same thing. Some of those independent bands I saw 15 - 30 years ago have gotten much larger and more successful but a lot of those CDs I bought at concerts were on smaller labels that still aren't available to stream anywhere.

I also bought a ton of CDs when I lived in Japan in '98 and '99 from a good mix of bands from the '60s and '70s that I was really into as well as a lot of '90s hip-hop. Almost all of those albums have slightly different track listings or a few bonus tracks than the American versions of the same albums and a lot of those extra tracks are not available here, especially with a lot of the hip-hop stuff.

I have a running list of CDs to acquire. Most of it is filling in holes in my collection with older stuff I should have gotten years ago, but some of it is newer artists. When someone asks what I want for birthday/Christmas, I send them the list. I got about 5 this year; that was great.

I don't have any of the following:
records either 331/3 or 45, cassettes, 8-tracks, CD's, music streaming, or saved on my phone.

So you are exclusively listening to the radio? Or like a mariachi band once in a while at a restaurant, hoping they know something current? :)

I'm pretty sure one of my good wool socks fell out of my bag at the gym this morning in the locker room. Hopefully somebody picked it up and put it in the little lost and found bin instead of just tossing it out.

1 - very limited only when I am in my car.
2 - don't go any such place.

Had a concerned citizen call about the new truck stop. She did not pay $365,000 to live next door to prostitutes and riff raff. Noted and passed on to the developer.

I primarily stream my music through Pandora. I still have cds and will occasionally break them out. I wonder when cars will stop putting CD players in them.

I've been stalking you and waiting for just such a moment. Your little sock is mine now. Mine forever. This turned out more weird than funny and so let's just pretend I'm not talking about stealing and keeping your socks. Let's turn the clock back to when I was just a weirdo, and not a sicko who hadn't fully formed yet.

I'm making it worse, right? Anyhoo, I've got your sock and if you ever want to see it alive again put, idk, $5 in a ziplock and leave it in your mailbox. Include a cookie if you've got it, and I'll leave your sock - unharmed - Probably.

I do that sometimes. I've created several stations. Possibly the most unique one was started when I wanted to find some reggae-influenced songs with female vocalists such as No Doubt. So plugged in a few of her songs and... I got either reggae or female vocals but rarely both in one song. So I named the channel Reggae and Whiny Girls.

I can assure the caller that the lot lizards will not trespass on her property or anywhere they can't make a living. She may be interested to know that a new Peterbilt 589 runs around $190,000. A new Kentucky 53' moving trailer comes in at another $125,000, so her $365,000 is well within the comparables range....

You still have the noise and the fumes. Though not sure how close her house is and if that is much of a concern.

If you enjoy the view.....buy it
Was the situation with remonstrators at a subdivision hearing -
proposed subdivision on wooded slope across the street from them.
even mentioned the deer & birds they enjoyed seeing across their street.

I am sorry, but I do not think that it is right that there both Kwick Trip and Quik Trip gas station/convivence stores. That is just way too confusing when talking to people.
They're just two entirely different things...apples and oranges, black and white, right and wrong, Kwik and Quik.

I was told we had to do something we don't normally do. So us and another couple are going to a restaurant we normally go to for dinner tonight.

In Redlands, California, there is a "Colton Avenue" and a "Coulson Avenue" a block apart . . . Must be fun for the fire department.

Where is Coulson Avenue?

Edit: Nevermind, I found it. There isn't any properties that have their address with Coultson, and didn't even realize that was the name of the small stretch.

Mrs. WSU MUP Student must have paid the ransom because she actually found the sock kicked under a chair in the hallway of all places!

Right off Alabama and I-10. I grew up in NorCal, but my family was from Redlands so we visited there several times a year. I know the Inland Empire well. And it does look like a tiny one-block street, so maybe the fire trucks aren't so confused.

My father got his bachelor's at U of Redlands, my aunt worked in the admissions office there for decades, and my grandfather was dean of lingustics there for decades. (All three deceased. :-( )

I went to Redlands High and my wife graduated with her undergrad at U of R. I always associated that street with the Denny's location.

Blondie's song 'Rapture' is sometimes cited as being one of the earliest examples of rap appearing in popular music. The song was written in 1979 at a time when disco was still all the rage.
Rap starts in around 2:00
Listening to this right now on SXM.

I only bought records in the 1980s and then recorded to tape. Most of my albums have been played one time. Early U2, Berlin, Boston, Led Zeppelin, Heart. Even have an unopened Simple Minds. Why? I don't know. Was not fortunate enough to have a CD player in my car. I was lucky enough to get a second hand cassette head unit from my friend to put in my 1978 Ford LTD station wagon and all three speakers. A friend always bought CDs so I taped many of his and had nice crisp recordings. If I wanted a CD, I just casually tell Travis that XYZ cd was good and he'd inevitably go buy, then I'd record. Still have those tapes.

You're welcome. Next time my price increases by $1, and the sock will be better hidden.
