WOW - news out of Japan

A succession of 21 earthquakes registering 4.0 magnitude or stronger struck central Japan in just over 90 minutes on Monday, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said.
The strongest tremor hit at 16:10 local time (07:10 GMT), measuring 7.6.

Taking outside stuff down since I have a window. I have a feeling real winter will arrive in a few days.

Inside stuff is slow and incremental; about 40% done.

The RANDOM THOUGHTS THREAD has been part of our lives for many a post. The thread has given us reason to laugh, made us cry, once in a while encouraged a wink or two. Even though tagged with a RANDOM line, the thread was often not so "random". Cyburbians used it to test the waters on a thought and would, once in a while, create a thread with a central theme first posted on the Random Thread.

The original Random Thread will be quietly laid to rest. The ideas, thoughts, observations, complaints, shouts of joy, exclamations of disgust.....they will still be in the archived files. But we all know that time makes us forget, and there are many things that were shared in the original thread that time will HELP us forget.

As we begin to fill this new (and exciting! ) thread with our "randoms", let's take a moment to thank all of those who contributed to the original thread. But more importantly.....let's roll out the red Cyburbian carpet for "newbies" and others to join us. We look forward to a better world.....jump-started on this 3rd day of January, 2007.....go forth and gather thy randoms.

Other than not wanting to be in the office after nearly a month off, I have no other random thoughts yet this morning.
 
May I offer this: THINK BEFORE YOU POST! Ask yourself this, why post on another forum when you can post here? Might help with the overall post count after a lackluster year of randomness.

Hey, where I'm from for most planners moving up means moving on. I'm right back in that boat, too. I have ten left, I might have to switch two more times. Once every five years is the average, in my estimation.

I had a bonus check waiting for me today after the holidays. As a public sector wretch, I'm not going to complain that they took taxes out as for many years "bonus check" was something only the guys with cookies ever talked about, so I'm quite happy, frankly.
 
It is cold enough in my office today that you could store slabs of beef - and I'm never cold! I'm basically naturally layered like a harbor seal, and I'm almost as adorable, too. :)

I've wondered. Is there a way to look at all of the posts in the Friday Afternoon Club and see how many there are year by year. Because truthfully the whole section is really random.

I like to say "you could hang a hog in here" when it's really cold. Only the country folk I work with get it.
