Planning: general šŸŒ‡ Random Planning Thoughts (and Photos) Deserving No Thread Of Their Own

There’s a popular planning-adjacent podcast out there that planners like and support (based on the social media posts, reposts, likes, and comments that I see), and every time I try to listen to an episode that sounds interesting, I get all ā€œI can’t. I just can’t!ā€ A lot of buzzwords, a lot of hand-wringing, a lot of self-congratulatory back-patting, all with a healthy dose of finger pointing at the seemingly obvious albatrosses around the neck of planners. I know what the albatross is, and the host never quite comes out and straightforwardly calls it what it is, instead, the host uses code words and pulls out the ol’ ā€œthe revolution will come from the bottom upā€ rabbit from the hat, and guess what listeners, do I have the org and resources for you to make that happen!
That sounds like a Strong recommendation.

Daily Mail: Welcome to Britain's vape capital: How FIFTY FOUR e-cigarette shops lining two streets in Manchester is a damning indictment of our high streets

That's a violation.

I wonder if vape shops in the UK have 10,000 lumen string lights in their windows like those in western New York.

Let's me guess: This is High Street (a common street name in the UK)

I must really love my train simulator game. Just crossed the $1,000 total* threshold for downloadable content with last night's download of a Chinese HSR line.

(It's my personal funds, and it doesn't take up physical space, so wife can't complain. And she doesn't.)

* Over the course of two years; not all at once.

No worries if it is worth it to you. The same can be said for any hobby.

Whoops, wrong "random thoughts" thread. But I agree.

I find driving a virtual train incredibly relaxing, even if there are a lot of things to watch for. I think it's good for my mental health, even though I take the game a bit too seriously sometimes.

And, it keeps me from having a model railroad running all over the house. :)
