Sorry. Yes the 2016 one with Amy Adams, not the Charlie Sheen one.

I still am not sure exactly what it was all about in the end.
Arrival is pretty cool. It's clearly created and executed by a creator that respects the audience's intelligence. I thoroughly enjoyed it and probably should do a rewatch.

watching The Outlaws on Amazon - not bad

The Ipcress File on Amazon was also good

The new season of Borgen is awesome - that whole series was fantastic

The Lake on Hulu isn't bad, light/easy

I'm continually astonished at how much time some of you folks have to watch all these shows. I guess I just value my sleep too much or something. I can barely keep up with Magnum and Blue Bloods when they're on Friday night!

There is also a real downside because there are more and more answers on Jeopardy! that refer to streaming shows and I have no clue. :grimace:

I have a show going on my phone when I am doing dishes, folding laundry, stuff like that and when I am on my stationary bike

I only watch one at a time and watch 1-2 episodes a night before bed.

This is how we've become as well. Binge watching has sort of killed the idea of sitting down and blindly flipping through some channels for a little while before bed anymore. These days, my wife and I usually have one or two shows we're binging and will sit down and watch an episode or two of each each night. I actually probably watch quite a bit less TV these days than I did a few years ago, but since I am only watching what I really want to watch and can skip commercials, it ends up as more episodes.

I had been wanting to check out Severance on AppleTV since I first heard about it a couple months ago when it came out (the concept sounded really interesting) but never got around to it. After it got a bunch of Emmy nominations, I finally signed up for a free 1 week trial on Tuesday and now only have one episode left. I was tempted to watch it before work this morning but decided to go out for a walk instead and save it for tonight. It's the perfect combination of creepy and suspenseful and the styling is pretty great.

Wife and I have been watching Only Murders in the Building. However, we are through the first season and only have 2 episodes in season 2 until we are current, so then its waiting for new episode to drop.

I am watching Westworld Season 4 and looking forward to the GOT House of Dragons spin off.

Holy final episode cliffhanger Batman!

I still recommend the show though.

One show that I want to watch more of is "Who Do you Think You Are." It is a show that works with Ancestry.com to research peoples backgrounds and takes them on adventures based on where their ancestors lived. I watch the one with Nick Offerman the other day. It was really interesting. It makes me want to visit New Castle Delaware where my ancestors lived when they came here from England.

The ending to The Old Man on FX was somewhat anti-climactic to me. They left it as sort of a cliffhanger although there has been no announcement about a 2nd season. I really wish they would tie these things off.

The latest episode of Better Call Saul was great!

So fun to see Carol Burnett...

...in her role as Jeffy's mom. I wonder if her character will come to some sort of crossroads with Gene? I don't see the final episode going well for Gene/Saul/Jimmy, I see him either dead or in prison by the time the final episode airs.

This past week I have been catching up with Season 3 on Netflix.

I found out where in Sweden the Swedish part of my family is from. I'm tempted to travel over there just to see what it is like. I know where in Germany that part of my family is from. I could see both during the same trip.

I'm watching Better Call Saul - I'd been wanting to watch it for years but kept forgetting, but finally started a couple of months ago. I'm in season 4 now.

Currently watching with the hubby and sometimes kids:
  • Orville
  • Only Murders in the Building
  • Ms. Marvel (behind a couple of episodes but I like it)
  • the new Star Trek but it and Orville are so similar that my brain keeps mixing up the episodes :ha:
  • and we're slowly working our way through Monk as an "end of the evening wind-down" show

I guess they are going to make 2 more Star Trek series.

They are literally going to beat it to death. Some of these streamers are totally dependent on 1-2 franchises.

Anyone else love "The Bear" on FX? It could be my fine dining enjoyment, but it was just well written. Great quick watch (only 8 episodes).

Started Paper Girls on Prime this week.

Up to episode 3 and the sci-fi/time travel setting has hooked me. I hope it holds through to the end at episode 8.

I'm a sucker for a sci-fi/time travel setting.

As for just time travel settings, I liked this movie:

And am intrigued by this series:

I really like this show; the episodes with Kelsey Grammar and with Aisha Tyler stick out in my mind as being especially interesting.

Oooh, I, also, am a sucker for time travel stuff. (Have you ever noticed a theme in JJ Abrams' work?) I'll have to check it out.

ALSO, Criminal Minds is filming a new season starting this month! We're currently in Season 5 so I don't know if we'll be done before it airs but I'm looking forward to it.

PBS' Finding Your Roots hosted by Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. is also amazing.

Tehran is a good Apple+ show. They recently released the second season.

I love a good spy show so I checked it out last night based solely on you mentioning it and the thumbnail picture on Apple+ and holy crap am I hooked! So far, the pace of the show is really great (along with the style and acting).

Usually, I'm in bed by about 10:30 but I stayed up until nearly 1:00 a.m. to plow through the first 5 episodes so if I fall asleep in the middle of the day today, I'm blaming you!

This is the best spy show I've watched since the French show The Bureau which I had been considering re-watching.

You might like IPCress File on Amazon Prime too then, or Spy City

Nope. Sci/fi setting too thin and was too much a trojan horse for a tween/early teen girl drama.

It's really a great show. You can blame my daughter who told me that I had to watch it!

I started the new season of Blown Away. I'm still fascinated by all they can do with glass.
I started the next season a couple weeks ago as well.

A show our son has got me started on is Gotham Garage. Car Masters: Rust to Riches. This is fairly well-scripted 'reality' tv but the cars these guys work on are insane.

Who else had the Hot Wheels car version as a kid?

Split Image I think was the name & yes I had it.

Mom gave all my hot wheels away when I was in college. Cars, tracks, everything.

My wife and I started rewatching Parks and Recreation last night. Damn, I love this show. However, I started as Leslie Knope and now I am Ron Swanson.

We restarted Hulu again for Only Murders in the Building, but now I have to binge the 5th season of Rick and Morty and watch Prey and Predator with my middle son.

I am watching the new season of The Outlaws - anything with Christopher Walken is good imo

watched The Silent Sea before that on Netflix - it's okay sci-fi

Watched ep1 of SheHulk last night. Pretty good and they didn't mess around with too much 'drama' to explain why. The story got right to the How and then the What. I think it honestly respected the viewers' intelligence by 'getting right to it' so to speak.

Also, working through season 5 of Rick & Morty. It continues to satisfy my desire for meta-high concepts in the service of utter silliness and absurdity.

Watched 1.5 episodes of The Bear on Hulu. I'm tired of excessive dourness, conflict and trauma. I likely won't bother with more.

I made it through 2 episodes with my wife but I have the same feelings as you. I told her she can watch the rest without me. It did however make me want an Italian beef sandwich.

We haven't started it yet, but I am looking forward to binging season 3 of Never Have I Ever on Netflix. Both my wife and I really enjoyed the first two seasons.

Any one watch House of the Dragon last night? I downloaded it, but haven't watched it yet. I have read a good chunk of the book it is based on and the book doesn't seem like it would lend itself well to a TV series. Guess we will see. People loved the dragons, so I guess it has that going for it. LOTS of dragons.

I'm guessing you read MOST of the book because George never finished the damn series like his first series. Still waiting George.
