Watched season 2 of Top of the Lake ("China Girl"). Awful. Absolutely awful. I need something to cleanse my palette now.
 
Started watching The Wire after my last trip to Baltimore. Almost through Season 1 so far and I love it! Can't believe it's taken me this long to watch it. The show is 15 years old now.
 
I'm not much into nostalgia, but I am watching Cheers again. As they say, they don't make shows like that anymore.
 
I think Wallander is too dark for me right now. Mrs. Maister has suggested I start watching "The Crown" with her.
 
My wife saw a commercial for a comedy called Teachers on TVLand so we gave a random episode a shot a couple of weeks ago and were immediately hooked. It's a show about 5 women who are teachers at an elementary school. They are all pretty unlikable people in their own ways, but each still have some good qualities. Think It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia but characters who aren't all totally awful in all regards and the show isn't quite that dirty. They are only in season 2 and all of the episodes from the 1st and 2nd seasons are on demand.

Speaking of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia... I noticed that Netflix removed it from their streaming. :( That's been my go to show for when I just want to watch some random episode of something funny again.

The Wire is probably my all-time favorite drama from the premium channels (more so than Dexter, The Sopranos, Oz, or GoT). The writing and storylines are all great, the acting is phenomenal, and it's just an overwhelmingly great series.
 
I had always under-appreciated Jeff Daniels' acting. Not after watching Godless. The man is a genius.

I'm currently enjoying S2 of The Crown.

Also, my BIL sent us an HBO Go gift card for my wife's birthday which I'm thinking should cover us catching up on the last two seasons of GoT and Season 1 of Westworld. :D
 
We've been watching Alias Grace on Netflix. We were about 3/4 of the way through it when we looked at each other and commented about how boring it became, but now we only have one episode to go, so we feel obligated.
 
My wife and I started to re-watch the BBC Sherlock series Christmas night and we're almost all the way through. It's just as good the second time through as it was the first time and thankfully, enough time has passed since we first watched it that we've forgotten a few of the plot twists and storylines.
 
New to Netflix, my wife and I started off with Atypical...and finished the 1st season over the last couple days. Stranger Things likely next...
 
My wife, dad, sister, my one son who cared and I binged The Crown - Season 2 this past weekend.

It was alright, but I could have just watched one episode and been satisfied.

Late on Saturday night I watched the first three episodes of Mindhunter. That was good and I will watch the rest soon.
 
Started up with the final season of Longmire. It's still a good show, but I'm not finding the 6th and final season to be quite up to the standards set by previous seasons. The writing is still good, but the story arc seems to be a little lackluster. I mean yes Walt is facing a civil suit for wrongful death, but that doesn't have the same suspenseful life-threatening quality that previous story arcs possessed.

Hubby and I are working our way through Psych again. It is a fun easy. Dule Hill is a great straight man.
 
So we recently started watching Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" and I have to say it is an excellent idea for a talk show format. Even if the guests are sometimes duds - I was surprised at how genuinely unfunny some of the comedians were when they were shooting the shit/riffing with Jerry, (Kirsten Wiig comes notably to mind) - but the interesting and unusual cars they were riding in are sometimes a consolation.

Anyone else watch CiCGC? What do you think?
 
Terminator would no doubt be impressed to see the Kirsten Wiig episode, if for no other reason than to behold the 1964 Volvo 122S Amazon they tool around in.
 
Started on season one of FX's Atlanta - I have no idea now why I didn't start watching this as it aired. It's fantastic, and the Atlanta scenery and inside jokes are just an added bonus.
 
Yes I loved CCGC!!! Jimmy Fallon, Obama, Michael Richards, Larry David, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mel Brooks/Carl Reiner, Aziz, Steve Harvey, Trevor Noah, and Sebastian Maniscalco were my favorites

watching season 3 of Parks and Rec while deciding what my next binge is - that season was hysterical
 
Some of the episodes of CCGC are not just unfunny but are at times downright depressing. Just saw the Gary Shandling episode. I gather he died a few weeks after it aired. Or Michael Richards when he admits how he is never doing standup again and is essentially 'broken' as a person after his meltdown at a heckler 10 years ago.
 
I am watching the second season of The Crown and caught up on How to Get Away With Murder.
 
Finished off Series 3 of The Fall - I imagine that's the end of that show. Started Mindhunter (Netflix) - the first episode had some awful writing and acting at various points, but overall it seems pretty good (I'm three episodes in now).
 
I started 'Person of Interest' last night. Interesting premise. Good mix of action and suspense and it's got the added bonus of being complete. They made five seasons and all five are on Netflix. Nothing worse than bingeing on a whole season of a current show in week or two and then having to wait another year to find out what happens next. For that reason I'm a big fan of shows that have already ended.
 
Just finished Season 7 of Shameless (the last season available on Netflix). It's a pretty good show. Not really what I usually watch, but I enjoy it.
 
I'm about 1/2 way through the new season of Jessica Jones. I think it's better than the first season. I've also started the second season of the British version of Wallander.

I agree it's a great show. This season was a little more ponderous than Season 6. I think maybe one more season and it's a wrap.

I am binge watching Bravo's Imposters Season 1 in advance of Season 2 starting in a few weeks.

They've already done Season 8, but it's not out on Netflix now. I think Season 7 was definitely thin on the comedy, but I didn't mind it too much. I think it's gotta be close to the end, considering everyone seems to have their lives together.

Somehow I was off a season. 8 was a little more ponderous (I have Showtime) but the last episode while not epic did allude to some interesting things in Season 9.

I am patiently waiting for Season 2 of Handmaid's Tale which is supposed to drop in April.

I’m 1/2 way through the second season also and I totally disagree. I liked the first season far more, though this one is still pretty good. My wife agrees with you however.

There are aspects I don't like of this season. The first season was introducing the character and the resolution of the Kilgrave story line. It was also metaphor about how people act in an abusive relationship. This season was more about finding out about her past. There has also been an undercurrent of drug abuse. JJ does not deal with her past and it drags her down. She is an anti heroine. It adds to the dark tone of the series. It will be interesting to see if they try to have her come to terms with what happened.
 
Started Season 4 of Bosch on Amazon Prime. Solid. Will move on to the first season of Killing Eve (BBC America) next.
 
Finished up Lost in Space, 3%, and Dear White People. Working on Legends of Tomorrow. Lost in Space was okay. It'll be interesting to see what they do next season. 3% was okay, but the first season was better. Same for Dear White People. Legends of Tomorrow is meh, but I'll watch it.

I have liked it so far. I'm getting close to the end of the first season. I haven't really been "binge watching" it though. Off and on really. I'm basically in love with Judy (Taylor Russell). Don't worry, shes 23.

Mrs. Maister got the complete Perry Mason DVD collection last Xmas. What she likes most about Mr. Mason - all his clients are innocent and none of them ever lies.
 
I am happy when I can find a show worth watching. Better Call Saul is one of those shows.
 
I just finished S1 of The Flash. Like it - anything with Jesse L. Martin is worth a second viewing.

Caught up on Death in Paradise, Sherlock (and the extras), The Crown, The Keepers, and watched a few movies. I'm still behind on recommended shows, but I'm also dealing with house showings, the realtor, movers, and long-distance job hunting.

Hubby and I started Wild Wild Country, and will watch that together on the weekends. Really good show - that Sheela is crazy!
 
I was sick one day last week and watched the first half of Marvel's Luke Cage Season 1.

I was good up till then and now that I have about 3 episodes left I don't really care about it.

I want to get into Better Call Saul, but I'm not in the mood for heavy dramedy, though I loved all the Saul Goodman appearances in Breaking Bad.

I think I'll binge all of The Good Place, instead.

I'm two episodes into it and will probably watch it out. The first episode was a little rough, but it got better in the second one, enough so that I will finish it. I'll probably get back into British version of Wallander.
 
The first half of the new season of Kimmy Schmidt dropped on Wednesday and my wife and I powered through it already (it was only 6 episodes). The humor was soooo much darker than the first 3 seasons but it was still really funny. Now I have to wait until next January for the final 7 episodes. :(
