As with many in my office, and many other offices, I am listening to the Jim Rome Smackoff on ESPN radio. It is the first time I have heard this event, and I am ROTFLMAO.

What are your thoughts on it? :-D

Rome Rocks!!!!

I've been listening to Rome for about 7 years now and he keeps getting better and better.....hands down the best radio person of all types and topics (without a doubt!) VERY FUNNY STUFF and its not just all sports (mostly)......
I have a question, my local station recently changed formats and Rome is no longer on.....but he MUST be on in Miami somewhere.....I've been wanting to check at home, not work....anyone out there know what sation he may be on in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale/ Palm Beach???? Otherwise, I'll bite the bullet and pay for online access :) :-D

I guess I am just different... or better than everyone else, but I HATE Jim Rome.

It don't know what it is. Bitterness? Indifference? or something more profound? :-|

Romey's act has worn thin on me. I prefer actual discussion of sports issues, more along the Colin Cowherd or Dan Patrick genre. Rome is funny to listen to, though.

Off-topic - Anyone remember Scott Farrell? What ever happened to him? That guy was freakin' nuts!!!

I've always thought he was a bore, talking about the most inane things in sports. I don't get him, or much of what is on ESPN. I just want to know who won the game and which players had an outstanding performance.

bring it, clones

Romey is good stuff.

Come strong or don't come at all.

Our local ESPN radio affiliate doesn't broadcast the Jim Rome show so I only get to hear it when I'm in Portland, so his novelty never wears off for me.

I'll never forget the Chrissy Everett thing. Hilarious.

I'm out. :b:

I took Rome's advice and gave it a while before passing judgement. I hated it at first too, but once you get used to the sarcasm and the format of the show its classic!

The smack-off today was great.

You bunch of clones, go take your pieholes and talk your smack somewhere else...or I'll kick your grill in. Romey is off the air in my area, so I'm listening to Dan Patrick during my lunch hour.

Romey is off the air down there? I'll trade ya! The local sports station took of a great local program and put Romey on last summer. We also get ESPN radio, but I seldom get a chance to listen.

I really can't stand national sports radio... I'll take "The Score" 670AM outta Chicago anyday.

Ditto. I'll stick with America's top rated sports radio network any day: www.weei.com
