Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Tuesday

1. Humid/Sunny/ 90 here today with a chance of strong storms later this afternoon. I kind of like it when it gets this way.
2. Despite tomorrow being Cinco-de-mayo, today is still Taco Tuesday... and you don't mess with tradition. I will have a margarita tomorrow to make up for it.
3. Cooked filet mignon for dinner on Sunday and it turned out freaking awesome... however my oldest was pissed. I cooked the a much cheaper cut of steak knowing that they would not appreciate them (and the two younger boys would likely not eat it anyways, and gave him a bit of mine. He realized that the quality of the cut matters a great deal. Next time, I will need to make him one too.
4. I am looking forward to the Wings beating Blue Jackets for the last two games of the season. That way they won't finish last in the division.
5. Before school my oldest was out playing with a remote control car in the cul-de-sac and I was getting my coffee cup out of my tuck when he noticed our neighbor and their twin toddlers come out to head to preschool. He quickly went over and crouched down and ask them how they were doing and if they were excited to go to preschool. My neighbor commented about how excited the twins are to see James and how they appreciate how well mannered he is with kids. I looked at him puzzled thinking, ok, why can't we get him to follow the rules in the house and do his homework...

I get this sometimes too where (usually elderly) people after interacting with my son say "oh, he's such a nice and considerate boy...." and I'm thinking who the heck did you just talk to? Surely not Junior, that hellion.

5) Someone honked at me this weekend, then yelled at me to take off my mask. I was about to walk into the grocery store. Masks are not required, but with the variant on the rise, I'm being extra careful. I ignored the bozo and left my mask on.

4) I need to get a storage unit someplace. We have too munch stuff in our garage.

5) I am still trying to decide if I want to continue to use the smoker tube or kick up my game to something else. I was looking at the Weber Smokey Mountain Cookers/Smokers, but it seems like a lot of money.

5. Still no idea when my car may actually get repaired. It's been at the dealership 5 weeks now.

5) I am still trying to decide if I want to continue to use the smoker tube or kick up my game to something else. I was looking at the Weber Smokey Mountain Cookers/Smokers, but it seems like a lot of money.

I have the 18" Weber Smokey Mountain. I use it often. I advise you to watch a few videos on the usage; I know a few people who have gotten one and considered it too much work. Its not set it and forget it but it's close once you get use to it. As far as the price, they are pricey. I was fortunate to find my on clearance at Lowes this past fall for 55% off. Buying a used one is also a option, I personally would replace the cooking grates. I have seen them for $50 to $150 depending on the age and size. I am actually looking for one to keep at my parent's place so I don't have to take mine over there.

1- scheduled to take a week of vacation - end of August

5. A friend is looking at houses. He told they saw one with "a kitchen designed to eat out" - evidently it was tiny & dysfunctional.

1. My new office is indeed an incubator. The 9' tall by 12' set of windows, one facing south and one facing west, adds to the solar heat gain immeasurably. The A/C is not cooling my space either. They promise they are getting it fixed.
2. It took moving out of it to finally see what an utter and complete dump the previous place was. At least 25 years past due on a "down to the frame" rebuild.
