Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Tuesday

1. I could eat sub-like sandwiches for lunch every day.
2. I like the super healthy ones even.
3. I am transitioning all my cords to "lightning".
4. I have neck and lower back pain.
5. For how sick I have been, pain is the least of my worries.
 
1. I think I might RJ after lunch
2. After the stress of a potentially bad day, yesterday went pretty well.
3. I'm waiting for some kind of fall out, the day can't go that smooth.
4. I'm having sympathy neck pains - Damn you Hink.
5. Soup for lunch today!
 
1. Considering going back to school to get a PhD.
2. Not sure if it will be in Planning...maybe Geography.
3. Trying to figure out how to tell everyone here that I miss academia.
4. I love the profession just not sure I want to practice planning in the current political climate.
5. Feeling rather conflicted today.
 
1) Been volunteered for format review of three additional chapters of the UDC (already completed 2, so 5 total)
2) Attending my first local P&Z meeting tonight - there's only one Code-related item on the agenda
3) Didn't bring dinner/snack for before P&Z, so lunch was late
4) Really like the atmosphere here
5) Hoping hubby applies for the job I found for him through my network
 
1. Looks like I won't dodge the zoning board bullet next month
2. I really like salted in the shell peanuts but concede they can be a little messy
3. I have a friend who is an Israeli expat
4. Motivational type people can be rather annoying if you're not in the right frame of mind
5. So can I
 
1. Organizing & cleaning out will be a slow process
2. The Girl won the 6th grade science project on wetlands...her choice of topic
3. Never say never (damn I just said it)
4. I'm glad we don't have a 5th floor like kms
5. Bells Hopslam release party tonight at our local pub :D
 
1. I'm listening to a Proud of America Guy on a radio talk show.
2. Blue skies and sunshine right now.
3. The original eastern terminus of the Pennsylvania Turnpike is at my town.
4. I don't like eating lunch in my work truck; my can of TAB is resting on my knee.
5. My work boots are as sturdy as hooves.
 
1. My stomach makes lots of noise some days.
2. I like to draw.
3. Stamp, stamp, stamp.
4. I don't like mispronouncing a name.
5. The names of residential housing products are really uncreative.
 
1. I think I've exercised considerable restraint where posting on the neverending ta ta's thread is concerned
2. I still haven't gotten bit by the garden bug yet. That's unusual for me. I bet it has something to do with not getting one's hopes up after experiencing last winter
3. I'm directing a Zorro radio show this week. Some of the actor's Spanish accents are lamentable, while others sound like they should be on that SNL radio show (NPR) skit with Jimmy Smits
4. Saw the first show of season 3 in "Chuck" last night and was disappointed
5. I hope they are able to resolve the situation in Ukraine peacefully.
 
  1. I woke up to the weather being 15 below, went up to 13 below for my walk to work
  2. My car is in the body shop from hitting a deer
  3. I will have a cheeseburger for lunch in honor of Fat Tuesday
  4. I will take a break from personal social media for Lent
  5. Hink's present is still in my car which is at the shop and I feel awful
 
1. I hate when days start off with not communication and lead to frustration.
2. Today is Fat Tuesday and Random Acts of Kindness Day.
3. I think Mexican is for lunch today.
4. Found a job I think I might like in the city.
5. I have some terrific friends and they are making working on my birthday better.
 
1) Putting the house repairs in overdrive to get it on the market within the next few weeks.
2) I am thankful for awesome Cyburbia friends sending me info and recommendations.
3) Going to a training event this weekend and a Garth Brooks Concert next weekend. Busy times.
4) Last week was so crazy, this week almost seems dead.
5) Pre-season stuff is getting started. Looks like we will have 100% occupancy in our downtown business spaces this summer.
 
1. We had an impromptu pre-Ash Wednesday fasting meat lovers' pizza for lunch.
2. I think it's funny that men post in the all-you-want-to-know-about-ta-ta's thread.
3. Spring fever should be hitting soon.
4. Nothing like a 4 day week. :)
5. I joined a MeetUp bicycling group.

4. My husband is amused by how much I love my new pajamas.

1. I like it when long missing Cyburbia dignitaries pay us an occasional visit (e.g. dandy warhol)
2. Watched mercifully little of the day long Scooby Doo marathon Junior did this past weekend
3. It's interesting that we mark time in relationship to wars (yeah, Uncle Johnny opened the Chevy dealership two years after the war)
4. I'm convinced women are generally less particular about a man's appearances than the reverse
5. I enjoyed spending the day at the museum with Junior yesterday
 
1. New Planning Commissioner's training tonight - free dinner!
2. Signed a lease on a rental house close to hubby's new job
3. Anyone else heard of Scenic City status? Neither had I until last week.
4. I am really depressed with all this rain, fog, freezing temps, ice, drizzle on endless repeat.
5. Closing on the sale of our house is two weeks away!
 
1. Shoulder is still very sore, but I am encouraged by some improvements
2. Everyone wants to meet the new guy
3. Slacking time is getting limited
4. 70 degrees tomorrow & 40 on Thursday
5. March Madness & then baseball season - can't wait
 
1. I wish kid sickness season was over.
2. I want good bbq.
3. My office is in a bad mood.
4. I am always in a pretty good mood, even when I am not.

3. I hate how people take a good thing and beat it to death.

5. I think that I'm taking a trip to tour Monticello during easter break.
 
1) Wife made the appointment. I take our dog to the vet at 8:30 tonight to get put down. I think I will be the most upset about it, but we think it is time.
2) The sun today makes the cold temps almost bearable. Long range forecast has highs above freezing.
3) I need to re-level my router table tonight too. The plate adjustment screws keep coming loose.
4) Buying a set of tires from a friend of mine. He bought them in the fall and does not like how they handle in the snow. I think they are awesome in the snow, but he has a light vehicle and I have a suburban.
5) It is going to be an extremely busy 3 months for me...

6) Props to Maister for spending the day at the Museum with his kid. Parents need to do that kind of stuff more often.
 
1. They say my furniture will arrive today - we shall see
2. Attention span of 12 year olds isn't great
3. The bum shoulder is feeling better, still sore but the range of motion is increasing
4. Its very hard to shake hands with a bum shoulder & I've had to shake a lot of hands this past week
5. The Red Panda story is hard to keep up with occasionally
 
1. First day in a long time without some sort of wet weather
2. Cooked dinner last night in the new rental house - gas range!
3. Opened lots of boxes last night and got some furniture arranged, but have lots to go
4. Tried to arrange the pantry, but it's so much bigger than what I'm used to, so it'll probably get arranged again
5. Slow day at the office today, but the rest of the week is booked with meetings
 
1) We lost more than 6 inches of snow in my yard yesterday. The sun and high 40's temps were such a wonderful experience.
2) I was asked to do something, or in this case, not do something that I am not 100% comfortable with.
3) I am not going to spend $17,000 on a gold Apple Watch with gold band. In a few years, I might get the cheap one. They will all have the same functions.
4) I have a building permit app going on 3 weeks without a property owner's signature. The applicant knows that I can't approve anything without that signature but seems to be dragging his feet.
5) The river is covered in ice right now... we are guessing it will be open by Friday.
 
1. Celebrating a warm sun day...hooray!
2. Making eggplant parm tonight for dinner...sans pasta.
3. Work is really not happening today.
4. Considering looking at a position on the dark side.
5. I like the job title Public Finance Planner...sounds like a way different gig.
 
1. I would like to not have night meetings. Ever.
2. What pay cut would I take to work 32 hours a week? Hmmmm.
3. I like my job most days. But being Willy Wonka would be fun.
4. I don't think retirement will be boring. I will be good at fiddling around the house.
5. I received 41 emails today. I responded to 19. I still need to respond to 7. The rest will not get a response from me. Deal with it.
 
1. a leprechaun left gold chocolate coins hidden around Junior's place at the kitchen table. He didn't appear to be magically excited as he was in years past
2. something must die for something else to grow in its place. That is the way of things
3. Maybe we'll go to Wright Patterson Air Force Museum for spring break. Junior should enjoy it
4. Another bout of depression feels imminent. This sucks. I wish I could just re-wire my brain to permanent sunshine mode.

1. I still hate anything to do with CDBG with a passion
2. Some of that might be due to the fact that our CPD rep is NEVER available and rarely returns messages and has never visited my fair city.
3. Her current phone message says she is out of the office, but wait, it's from DECEMBER!
4. I put St. Patrick's Day up there with New Year's Eve; Amateur Night. I'll be staying in.
5. I have 4 employees in my charge. Since June until last Monday at least 1 of them had been out on maternity leave. Nice to have everyone back.
 
1. I remembered to wear green, but only because the morning news anchor was also wearing green
2. Tired today because I stayed up too late reading
3. We have P&Z tonight
4. Hubby starts new job tomorrow
5. Need to finish putting together our new IKEA bookcases
 
1. I think it's really cool how the highway contractors can drive in reverse for a pretty long ways on narrow cartways at the edges of hills.
2. My coworker gives me the chocolates form his Nutrisystem meals.
3. Things are pretty muddy out there.
4. Four of us here are Irish; two are wearing green.
5. Bangers and mash for dinner tonight.
 
1. The Girl reminded me to wear green today & she really remembered based on what she wore
2. Haven't been sleeping well (again). I know its dark @ 4:00 am, I don't need to be awake for that!
3. Very nice day today - like Chamber of Commerce weather

1) Wife is going to be gone doing interviews early next week. Her dad offered to drive her (12 hours each way) I think he wants to check out the golf courses.
2) Not sure what I want for lunch today.
3) I love my view of the harbor but the driving of spring piles is getting annoying.
4) Time vs Cost is weighing heavy on my mind right now.
5) I am surprised my bracket is doing as well as it is. I don't think I watched one college basketball game this year. I might watch the next MSU game though.
 
1. I wish I could get out to one of the golf courses right now
2. I'd also like to have a chocolate milk shake right now too
3. Yet another night meeting tonight (3 nights a week for the last 3 weeks) and then on Thursday too
4. I haven't had time to do much at the house over the last month

1. Got a second interview for the only day this week I cannot make it...waiting to see if they can reschedule.
2. Had lunch with the Boss today!
3. I love BBQ for lunch.
4. Today is a Board day and so far the meeting has been rather difficult to watch.

1) Really pleased with my hiring decision on my planner. She is likely smarter than me--just needs experience

2) Converted about another 150 s.f. of turf grass to native landscape beds on the south side of my house. I'd been waiting for a house to get built there so I would know the shade pattern.

3) I like what I do, but I still dream of opening my own business unrelated to planning. That thought has been on my mind a lot lately.

4) Mrs. 'Burb Fixer has gotten a pretty wicked case of allergies this spring.

5) Why do people think I want to hear from five different people asking the same five question about a particular property? :-@
 
1. Heading to NYC for a quick trip this weekend.
2. Already have every minute of every day planned. Yea I am that guy.
3. I am just out of it today. Light headed or something.
4. Lots to do though.
5. Jack Johnson had a time.
 
1. I had to leave work early because my son hurt his knee in gym class.
2. Thankfully, it's just a sprain.
3. Now I'm going to take an afternoon nap.
4. I think I'd like to have a housekeeper.
5. I don't like that some people believe that having an opinion entitles them to express it regardless of who they hurt or insult.

1. Feels like Monday.
2. My interview went well yesterday...now the waiting is killing me.

4. I wish the day would go faster some days just drag on and on.
5. My best friend is visiting FL soon but will not be able to visit me. It makes me a little sad.

3) I am in the waiting zone where I keep looking at my phone for the e-mail or a phone call that could greatly change things.
4) The deli counter at a very small grocery store always seems to have the best lunch specials.
5) Did you know that Tom Izzo was the coach of the Ishpeming Michigan HS team in 1977. (LINK with cool photos) Ishpeming is a little mining town on the south shore of Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula. It is about 15 miles from Marquette.
 
1. I took "lunch-time" at the school today - The Girl was inducted into the Beta Club (and several of her friends too) - very proud of them
2. It's gorgeous outside - time to leave for a site inspection!
3. After 4 weeks of 3 night meetings a week, this week I have 0

2. For me, this is the worst part of being single - the logistics of car work.

2. I'd like to rent an Alfa Romeo 4c and drive around Italy for a couple weeks.
3. Opening Day for MLB, the NCAA BB Final, BPL matches, NHL playoff positioning - yesterday was quite a sports day.
4. All the cars around here are now yellow.
5. I'm going to hoard me some Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs cause they just went on sale.
 
1) Slow day yesterday - wonder why? Today is packed.
2) Found out my MIL is coming later this month for a 5 night visit
3) Her visit means I need to finally move out of the apartment and get all our stuff into the rental house
4) Warm humid weather means frizzy hair, or extra time in the morning trying to prevent frizzy hair
5) Still happy with my move and new job choice.
 
Background checks take too long in my opinion. Things are very crazy at my office. Not sure why? Just trying to keep my head down and stay out of trouble.
 
1. Fitted sheets can be folded.
2. I like what humidity does to my hair.
3. We listened to a bad speaker who made a dull topic more dull.
4. There's a reason I like to travel alone.
5. I'm going to hear Cyril Wecht speak on Saturday.
 
1. Made it through the first year of marriage, no sweat.
2. Being a washed-out planner is ok with me but I do miss it sometimes.
3. Nice that baseball season is here.
4. Bought some "weed and feed" for the sad-looking front lawn but have mixed feelings about putting it down.
5. Tomorrow I need to clean up for the MIL visit. Yeay.
