Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Tuesday

  1. I am learned that I am going to be a step closer to maxing out my billable hours and turning a potential client away. Maybe it is time to hire someone.
  2. I am loving the nice warm weather
  3. Oldest did awesome at the dentist... no cavities!
  4. I think I might be able to get the last of the plaster repairs done tonight.
  5. I need a 27 hour day to get everything done that I want to get done.

1. It's Tuesday. For real this time.
2. Lunch today with some poohbahs from the arts foundation that provides our radio theater group with most of its funding. I'll have to remember to chew with my mouth closed and not tuck the napkin in my collar

1. Plumbing problem in the house. They have to dig up the floor and find a check valve that has failed.
2. Boss is out of pocket most of the week. This does not bode well for me due to some serious deadlines looming overhead.
3. Today is election day in Newark. Unfortunately, many of the council seats will end up in a run off election due to the sheer number of candidates.
4. Is it 5:30 yet?
5. Can't wait to go to Louisville next week.

2. I'm using more tick repellant than sunscreen these days.
3. I love fresh raspberries.
4. I'm putting in a flower bed, which I haven't done since I moved into my current home.

1. Moving in less than a month to a townhouse.
2. The townhouse my fiance and I will be renting is twice the square footage of the current apartment, which will be really nice.
3. We need to win more work. There are not enough projects out there, and it does not help that we're not competitive for small and cheap projects.
4. I've been trying to get a potential Plan B lined up "just in case," but it is not panning out like I had hoped either.
5. I totally forgot that next week is Memorial Day. 3 Day weekend, then 3 day week, then another 3 day weekend. :h:
 
1. It's only Tuesday, and I'm tired of my regulated community.
2. I might take a day trip to Wheeling this weekend.
3. WV's capital floated between Wheeling and Charleston for a while.
4. Wheeling is more like Pittsburgh than it's like the WV stereotype.
5. I'm working a little late so that I can go to a game that's closer to work than to home, and get to freeload a meal from a meeting that's happening here. Score!

  1. I am feeling a renewed sense of optimism this morning.
  2. Pondering on selling two doors that are original to the house, or keeping them with the house in the garage for when we sell.
  3. Should I install the original screen doors on the front doors (we have 8-foot tall double doors at the entrance) or keep them off?
  4. I was able to put screens in all my windows on the first floor except two (one kitchen and one in my office)... the breeze flowing through is amazing.
  5. I really like the apple line of projects and programs, and from what I hear, I will like them more this fall.

3) I ordered a few Tiles and a couple of Trackrs in an attempt to find the things that my family loses all the time. Let's see which one works better.
4) My neighbor put out an "I'm With Hillary" sign in his front yard. He could not answer what good things that Hillary has done when I asked him. This is going to be a fun few years.
5) I have a property owner who is trying to bait me in sending a violation notice for his 'art'.

They do... kind of. I watched the USA game on ESPN's app on my Apple TV, last night. They are also broadcasting them LIVE too, even if you don't have ESPN as part of your cable provider.

1. I did a cover of that song in a high school band. It has really simple parts for the drums, but it really is a cool song.
2. Almost done unpacking everything. Not too shabby
3. No internet yet at home. We're roughing it.
4. I need a change of pace at work. So far though, no luck.
5. I have to resist the urge to play air-drums in my cube. It would be embarrassing if someone were to notice, but some songs just make me want to rock out anyways.
 
1. It's generally not acceptable to wear shorts to work, but today I'm wearing the next best thing, a skort, which is shorts hiding under a skirt.
2. I found 2 ticks crawling on me yesterday. I wasn't working in woods or fields; I was investigating a citizen complaint and was on someone's well-manicured lawn.
3. I love the heat and humidity. I do, really.
4. My first vehicle was a 1977 International Scout 2. I wish I still had it.
5. Every town should have an old-style hardware store that sells lots of useful items.

2. Looks like we will be getting some summer hours, boss and I were thinking about letting people rotate through Mondays or Fridays off for the rest of summer.
3. Getting the ED to put together a scope of work is like letting a kid loose in the candy store.
4. I don't want any more meetings for the rest of the week.
5. Newark's new mayor is being sworn in today. My mole at the city let me know who was appointed Director of Housing & Economic Development. It's going to be a shit show.
 
1. Picked some squash from my MILs garden in the afternoon - grilled it in the evening - FANTASTIC
2. Sure is quiet at the house without The Girl running around
3. We are in the process of giving her bedroom a complete cleaning & rearranging
4. Weekend temps were very nice. Now its back to Hot & oppressive
5. Clean up on aisle 3 - why do I get to clean up their mess? Oh that's right they're incompetent!
 
1) Some Seagulls received a notice for too many opinion sings on his property last week. So he put more opinion signs up. Correction deadline is midnight tonight.
2) New ordinance permitting seating in the PROW resulted in some issues over the weekend. Looks like I get to have a conversation with some restaurant owners who decided to move beyond the approved areas.
3) New Nanny started today.
4) I get to go shooting with one of the local cops at lunch. He wants to try out my gun because he is thinking about getting the same one.
5) My new wireless router/modem keeps dropping the wireless network. I am not pleased.

2. Junior had a nice birthday celebration which included receiving Skylander Giants as a gift.
3. tomatoes galore coming online. Should have a decent harvest this weekend.
4. Shreveport, Louisiana. I know nothing about the place. Couldn't tell you a single thing about it.

1. My illegal, unpermitted parking lot project should be finished today since they were moving in the parking stops and striping it today.
2. Got some tile work going on in my basement today. The goal is to have the basement bedroom habitable by the end of summer.
3. Over the weekend I picked up a 5 pc outdoor table and chair set at Ikea for $119.
4. The landscaper is supposed to start on the backyard this week. We are skipping doing a lawn since there is nowhere to store a mower. We are going with smooth small stones with 18' square pavers interspersed while maintaining a mulch border around the perimeter so we can put in some native species of plants.
5. I may have a solid lead on a buyer for my last available house that's been sitting on the market for a long while. Fingers crossed.
