Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Tuesday

1. I drove to work before sun-up in the rain. I hate not being able to see the lines on the road.
2. The rest of the day is sunny.
3. Tomorrow is another birthday celebration at work.
4. Mine is next and I have to figure out how to get out of a celebration.
5. Planit, Payday is my favorite candy bar too.
 
1. I realize that I'm not sure what all the deadly sins are.
2. I know gluttony because I like it the most.
3. I'm tired of having to give my "it's called real estate SPECULATION for a reason" speech
4. The slow economy made me lazy, when only good developers could afford it.
5. Bunch of food talk and two specific mentions of Payday bars are making me hungry and all I've got is a Mounds. Can't even look at it now....
 
1. That pasteurized cider you get at the grocery store is okay, but nothing beats fresh UNpasteurized cider
2. except maybe UNpasteurized cider after a couple of weeks:-b
3. I intentionally never spellcheck anything I post on Cyburbia. How do you feel about that?
4. We bought no candy this year for all the trick-or-treaters that never come to our door each year
5. It seems like the number of people who put up lights and other Halloween decorations outside have increased substantially over the last 15-20 years.

3. D@mn Sears doesn't put out a tool catalog anymore, it's on the internet

1. Last of the milestones today
2. A little over 3 weeks to the thanksgiving trip
3. Am really looking forward to it
4. The stories about the Romani were fascinating.
5. Since they figure in to a story I'm writing, it was nice to have the media do the research for me.
 
1. I feel vaguely optimistic.
2. It's probably more a lack of worry. I ran out of the emotional energy required.
3. It seems like a good day to move office furniture.
4. Maybe I'll make some scale cutouts of the file cabinets and try different layouts.
5. Oh, I guess I have some actual work to do today, too...

3. Appreciative of neighboring city where we are undertaking a new project sending me sales comps and buyer info, less work for me.
4. Checked my 401K today....29% rate of return YTD, can this happen every year?

Did you go to Olive Garden?

[OT]I had a ladies night last night at Olive Garden. I kept looking around for a camera because it felt like I was stuck in an Olive Garden commercial. We were all passing breadsticks and pouring wine and laughing photogenically. Really, the manager should have been there.[/OT]

2. Overslept this morning because of #1
3. The Girl walked into the bedroom this morning asking why I didn't wake her up
4. She freaked when I told her she only had 10 minutes to catch the school bus
5. She made it (as did I) on time
 
1. Junior has no school today.
2. That means I have to stay home to watch him
3. Okay, that actually means I'm typing this at the library while he plays in the kids reading room downstairs
4. Gotta work all the right angles on these kinda things

2. Absolutely stupid not to tie it in to the congressional election cycle. Costs the city a lot of money to run the election by itself.

4. Our whole department seems to have a case of the "blahs".
5. The world is a very gray place. I have less and less tolerance for people who see everything in black and white. It ain't that easy folks.
 
1. I went to Sears to get a jacket for the kid.
2. It is almost impossible to actually buy anything at Sears because the clerks at checkout, and the customer(s) ahead of me, are invariably idiots.
3. I just had 2 pieces of leftover bacon.
4. Good thing the dog was in the other room.

2. A grantor asked for an updated progress report to be submitted, except that the last one was the final report. He insisted. I copied and pasted.
3. Two hour "marketing" meeting to discuss how to better market our affordable homes. Step 1: realize that I am the project manager not a realtor, Step 2: hire a realtor, Step 3: base pricing on market conditions, Step 4: ignore Steps 1-3
4. I feel like it gets dark at 4pm.
5. Looking forward to tomorrow's meeting with the city. Not sure what it's going to be like since we now have an interim mayor that says "I'm old school. I don't Twit and I don't email. I call people back. I know Mrs. Lopez."

1. There was a 3 hour (possible) ice delay for schools here Tuesday
2. Had the Mother of my friend funeral yesterday afternoon
3. With those 2 items happening I took the whole day off
4. Well actually I cleaned house for the in-laws coming to Turkey Day
5. It rained all day as well and the dog was pathetic
 
2. Came home this morning @ 1:30 from the public hearing
5. Working on 2.5 hours of sleep right now
3. I have to rethink my SS victim's present now

1. Have to go to a special parent-teacher conference tonight. Junior's got himself into trouble now.

4. Gotta stock up on hot cocoa. Stocks are getting a bit low and the temps are falling

1. A 45 minute drive took 2.5 hours on wet roads today.
2. Pittsburghers ought to be ashamed of themselves for over-reacting, but maybe they saved me from an accident.

  1. It snowed today, I milked it for being 30 minutes late.
  2. I had to drive the office ghetto van today. It needs a brake job.
  3. I have to sit in a car for an hour tomorrow morning with my boss so we can go to a "most of the day" meeting which will be a waste of time.
  4. The renovation project I am overseeing at one of our community centers is progressing nicely. It will make a huge difference to the clients at that center. The staff are complaining about the noise and dust. Ungrateful bastards.
  5. I am 39 for two more days.

I love the Sur La Table by us. So damn expensive, but so many cool things.
 
How do you pronounce it? I apparently made a faux pas when I pronounced it like it's spelled.

That's okay, I had an ex-gf who used to pronounce faux pas as 'fox pass' instead of 'foe pah'. She got mad at me when I laughed at her (gee, I wonder why she became an EX-gf?).
