5. Happiness is eluding me. Hell, simple contentment is eluding me. I wish my inner states would change for the better

2. Going to be interesting what a drier heat is like
3. Going to a baseball game while there
4. Not pay day for me either.
5. Next week is shaping up to be a busy week.
 
1) Late night at the Council meeting last night, so a little groggy this morning.
2) Love it when Council moves things around on your Department project timeline, so now we're scrambling.
3) Had a nice lunch with former coworkers yesterday. Hopefully that opportunity will continue to be available as time goes by.
4) Lazy Saturday planned, but will be busy on Sunday.
5) Forgot that I needed to get gas this morning, so ended up paying a bit more at a station that was convenient but not my normal one. I hate that.

3. The Girl found the order form for school sports pictures in the bottom of her backpack - orders were due 6 weeks ago
4. Found out this week the city was not awarded a brownfields grant - bummer

3. That means I also had a 3-day work week.
4. I just can't think of anything interesting to make for dinner.
5. I could walk across the street to a coffee shop for breakfast, but tell myself that I can make it myself for less money.

3. Paid off the mortgage yesterday.
4. Of course, now that's been accomplished, we're getting serious about moving.

1. Lots of yardwork scheduled for this weekend. I am soooo not in the mood, but it needs to get done. Sigh
2. I had two donuts for breakfast in celebration of my waistband getting looser recently
3. I met the world's friendliest dog ever last night. Damn, that dog was friendly
4. punctured a tire last weekend but was able to get it plugged. That's good considering I bought a new pair of tires back in December
5. I wished Cyburbia was around yesterday. I could have used it
 
1) I mowed the lawn last night. It was the 3rd time this year. My lawn is super slow growing.
2) I am building two end tables for my little sister this weekend as a Christmas present that I will hand deliver in July. Shipping is expensive.
3) I swear my neighbor goes on vacation more than any person I know... Well, he goes with his family on vacation and ends up working online most the time.
4) I need to find a good pre-workout powder. Recently, I have just been taking a protein power, a B vitamin supplement, and a cup of black coffee.
5) After discussing some things with a good friend, he complimented me in how well I play the long game to achieve what I want. I then reminded him that I am a Planner... we think 20 to 30 years into the future.

1. Chilled out weekend for a change.
2. My folks have less than a week left in my native state
3. Have gotten the writing bug here recently
4. Since I can't post this in the appropriate thread. Amtrak's problems is because we haven't invested in it.
5. I was left with the overriding thought that it would be a whole lot nicer with we just did some sprucing up and maintenance.

1) Spent the morning in a meeting to discuss performance metrics for our department, and then which items are "baseline" vs "increases/decreases/measurement".
2) Really want a nap. Had two late night meetings this week, and didn't sleep well two nights in a row. I'm beat.
3) Had a member of the public compliment staff on a report, and the presentation. While I had nothing to do with the presentation, hearing the compliment on the report was great!
4) Going on vacation next week!
5) Hung some pictures in the office. It looks like someone actually has a life outside of the office now.
 
1. Taking Monday off to visit a couple friends at a baseball game.
2. Spent yesterday afternoon at a state park on a kayak with The Girl
3. Next week's schedule looks like a complete cluster*&!k
4. It's always enjoyable when a particular councilman shows up in the office and just wants to talk.
5. Did a soft rollout on a cool improvement downtown. Now we're sitting back and watching the comments roll in.

1. Had to wait at the drink dispenser at BoJangles for a lady to finish washing her hands with the water dispenser. I just wanted my soda.
2. Fire Inspections and Building Inspections are not playing nicely together.
3. Sat through our insurance meeting this morning. No changes or increases in the plan this year & that's a good thing.
4. A little special project we did here is getting good press.
5. Found out one of my nieces is coming to visit over the 4th.
 
5. It's raining today and should last all day. Afternoon t-storms predicted for Saturday & Sunday.
3. I had some of the worst wings last night at East Coast Wings. Greasy, bland and very disappointing.
2. Out of the 7 people with offices upstairs, I think there's only 2 here today and only 1 on Monday.
1. Running errands today for lunch. Buying crap for the weekend gathering.
4. I asked a real estate friend of mine if he knew any good painters. He said 'no the ones I know are drunks.' :-c

1. Purchased a six of Youngling while in Ohio yesterday. I intend to savor them slowly over the next several weeks

2. I did my very first Sudoku puzzle last week too. I guess last week was a momentous week.
 
1. Our guess on CDBG funding was only about $4,500 off what we're actually getting.

3. The legal community here has done a good job convincing everyone that everything they do needs representation.
4. Worked the Tears for Fears/Hall & Oates show this week. Both very good and definitely not going through the motions.
5. Headed out for a nice long holiday weekend on the Chesapeake.
 
1) We begin our road trip this afternoon. Not looking forward to traffic. I am looking forward to seeing friends and family, and we are taking a new route to get there!
2) There is several things that I want to do when I am visiting family, one of which is to bring my kids to see my handprints in concrete from when I was their age. The house and shed that was on that site is gone, but the slab for the shed is still there. Another is eat at several of the locally owned restaurants and bars in the area.
3) Today will be the first day in 4 weeks that I have not exercised. I am going to hit up the gym at the hotel tomorrow morning. Sunday is Chicago, so the amount of walking will count.
4) I turned in my paperwork to apply for a new gig. It would would be 5 times shorter commute (zero freeway), more money, and better opportunity for advancement.
5) Wife decided to finish packing this afternoon... I fear we will not leave town until tomorrow morning. This is the reason I did not book any hotels yet. I have destination goals for each day, but we may have to make the trip in 2 days instead of 3.
 
1. One of my field boots is missing. I keep them in a box next to my wastebasket, and I fear I tossed one in the trash.
2. I'm working from my back porch. There's some demolition happening at the lumber yard across the way. I wish you could hear the music they're playing while they work - instrumental hymns.
3. If it doesn't storm, I'm taking a bike ride along the Allegheny River tomorrow.
4. I wish I could justify watching the bird feeder on company time.
5. I need a vacation.
 
1. Like kms, I'm also working from home today.
2. However, since it's raining (again), I am not working out on my back porch. I do have some windows open, though.
3. Mrs. Bubba found a couple of houses for sale she wants to go look at this weekend.
4. The list of things to do to get the current residence ready to sell keeps growing.

1) Hubby had an emergency root canal on his birthday this week. Not a fun, celebratory atmosphere at my house the past few days.

2) No doubt about it - I need to go on a diet AND get more exercise.

3) This weekend will be busy. I think I'd prefer a slow one.

4) What's the best way to tell someone who is whispering derogatory/not on topic/asinine comments about the speaker, while the speaker is at the podium, when you and the whisperer are in the audience? I settled for dirty looks, but they didn't get the message.

5) Had a fun time in Colorado last week. I'm ready to go back.

2. My mock up has stupid comments to entertain me.
3. Going to watch the girl launch some rockets for lunch.
4. Hoping she also mows the lawn later so I don't have to.

1) Worked a 14 hour day yesterday. I'm tired today.

2) Next week will be even worse in terms of long meetings. We're updating code!

3) This weekend I plan on finishing Season 4 of Father Brown on netflix, reading one of my favorite author's new books, and catching up on house stuff. I might even get around to brushing the :w:dog:w:!

4) Need to go by the :beers:liquor:wine: store. My parents are coming to town.

5) I hate calculating parking requirements. Especially when using odd measurements and old code.
 
1. This morning's first inspection ended with a pretty heavy rain shower. My jeans are muddy almost to the knee, and I managed to splatter mud in my eyebrow.
2. Next week includes a conference in Harrisburg and ends with a trip to Gettysburg.
3. Complainants have elevated themselves to activists.
4. Siri is a cruel, cruel being, and suggested that I drive 1046 miles for Chinese food.
5. Tomorrow, I get to explore a part of Western PA that I've never seen before.
 
1. The other morning I went to convenience store for a soda on the way to work. On my way out I passed a woman in her late 20s/early 30s dressed in a fuzzy onesie with Aerial the mermaid costume on it. I really had to think I was still asleep and dreaming or awake and I actually saw this.
2. A friend and I exchanged beers yesterday at the intersection. I was headed his way and he was head to my house so we just stopped and made the swap...in the intersection.
3. This short week did not fell like a short week at all
4. Just finished shooting a drone flyover of our downtown with guys for the electric agency. Now that is something I can actually say I've never done before.
5. The HR Director retired today after 31 years of service here. There were mixed feelings between the dept. heads on her leaving.

2. I took a personal day to escape some of the recent family and work-related drama. It tracked me down anyways
3. I’d like to go on a factory tour of some sort or other

1) Another meeting-filled Thursday in the can.

2) I wanted a donut this morning. So I bought a dozen for the whole office.

3) Three night meetings this week, with the longest last night. I'm beat. I slept in a bit this morning, but I already need a nap.

4) My Saturday is booked solid. but Sunday looks clear. Yeah - I need a day off.

5) Code changes sailed through first two Commission meetings. I believe that means that the appropriate Council meeting will not be the same.
 
1. My crazy SIL called Mrs. P last night & rambled / whined for 2 hours. She may have had too many glasses wine.
2. Summer trip home might include extra family drama this year.
3. Customer was at our door this morning when we opened.
4. I have a meeting scheduled today for 3:30 - why schedule a meeting @ 3:30 on a Friday....
5. It's supposed to be the hottest day of the year so far here today. On the high end of the upper 90s.
 
1. Good thing I don't live in the South. ;). It was 91 in Central PA yesterday.
2. I just took a solo bike ride around part of Gettysburg Battlefield. I think it's going to be too hilly for some of the group.
3. This place is a tourist trap. Two hotels, including mine, advertise that they are guests' Gettysburg address.
4. I'm meeting a cousin who shares great-great grandparents with me for lunch.
5. My phone's gps has been jerking me around and sending me in the wrong direction.

1) I was right about the Code changes not sailing through City Council. Both items tabled, but it was still a long meeting last night.

2) Parentals called. They are on the move for their weekend with us. I need more wine.

3) Software glitch means I had to retype my staff reports this morning. Good thing I was just retyping - one is very detailed and took quite a while to craft.

4) I'm tired. I've noticed that since taking this job, I'm a lot more tired by the end of the week. I think that means I'm working hard?

5) It's hot here. Triple digits are here to stay for a while!

I will miss Amish County. The neat as a pin farms, the unending fields and the endless blue skies dotted with cotton candy white clouds.
 
1. Porch / deck beers are usually some of the best.
2. I sacred The Girl a couple nights ago by standing on the porch and staring in her window. She freaked when she finally saw me.
3. Yesterday a citizen basically called my staff a liar. She came back in today and got the same answer from me.
4. School starts here August 28th.

Nah, it's a side effect of being a poet. I like Garrison and think he is a blast. However, Lake Woebegon/Prairie Home Companion wore thin on me. I am a little too close the Scandinavian stuff which served as the backdrop to his humor. Plus I've a assimilated into the Southern culture, so I've lost a lot of the Midwesterness.

1. Hey, did you know that high school cheers are the same everywhere you go and they just change the school mascot names? Why isn't 60 Minutes doing an expose on this scandal?

4. I now have a standing desk. I used to stand almost continually when I first got it, now I probably sit more than stand.

1) Boss is out on vacay. My volume of phone calls has increased, and it's only been one day.

3) My big plan for the weekend is to take the dog for a walk at the regional park.

4) I have a book to read for the weekend. Yeah! It's not work related!

5) I had an applicant try to get around my telling him that his project was illegal by telling me that I am incorrect in my interpretation of the state statute. Fine - then let me have you file a formal legal interpretation request, including a fee, and our attorney will get back to you in his own sweet time, It's been a while - I haven't seen that application yet . . .

4. Worked the Coldplay and Roger Waters shows last weekend. Roger is still incredible. Not a big fan of Coldplay but they put on a pretty good stadium show.
5. Actually bought tickets for a show tonight and am seeing Lyle Lovett and his Large Band at Wolf Trap. A National Park that encourages you to bring in beer and wine. What's not to like?
