Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Friday

1. I got to play in traffic this morning. while installing traffic counters
2. It was raining for the first bit.
3. Installing traffic counters with an audience isn't fun; If you are going to stand there and watch at least tell me when cars are coming.
4. I did enjoy the applause from a couple of kids.
5. I love working for a small town as I am sure I wouldn't have the same experience anywhere else.
 
1. I still think this is a lovely game *big smile*
2. I am working on a FLUM change and have been going back and forth all day about the proper designation (I'm still a bit undecided).
3. A new hang gliding operation just started less than 1,000 feet from my house. I was in the back yard when one flew just overhead (yay potential falling things)
4. I am glad that summer is just around the corner as well as my vacation.
5. The first sip of coffee in the morning is probably the best sensation of the day.
 
1. I had an easy Friday that included a long drive between the two sites I inspected.
2. My son bakes frozen pizza to crispy delicious-ness.
3. I found a tiny blockhouse in a town along the Allegheny River.
4. The sons are comparing world leaders past and present.
5. They're also watching Dragonball Z.
 
1. Off to O-hi-O for a relative's wedding this weekend.
2. I am such a pathetic, lazy, neglectful gardener
3. I'm getting my car door repaired for free this evening
4. Nothing is truly free
5. I really should get back to a workout routine at the Y
 
1) Yet again, I am the ONLY planner in the office on a Friday. :-{ This is getting really old.
2) I am wearing jeans and tennis shoes in the office and I don't care if anyone complains.
3) Hubby booked flight and hotel for our long weekend in New Orleans for our anniversary later this month!! :D
4) Interviews start next week for the new planner position - and I don't have to take part. Good or bad? I'm thinking good.
5) I'm hoping to actually do everything on today's to-do list. Will it happen? Magic crystal ball says "maybe".
 
1. The Girl can now play Metallica (Enter Sandman) on her ukulele
2. Did Jenner borrow his/her Vanity Fair cover dress from Kris or Kim?
3. Impromptu gathering on the deck last night with neighbors. There were several empty bottles afterwards.
4. Womens World Cup begins this weekend
5. Is it acceptable to put lottery tickets in the offering plate?
 
1. It's been a long week.
2. I am tired of the rain. So is my basement.
3. Managerial Finance course is going well. I still can work through formulas reasonably well.
4. RT informed me that she is fully vested in her 401K now. I told her to max out her contribution in celebration. I received an eyeroll, but she did ask me to change her investment allocation.
5. I am in sign creation hell.
 
1. To Chicago for the weekend. Lots of driving for a wedding.
2. My eyes are killing me this allergy season.
3. I think it is the LASIK.
4. My life is really crazy right now.
5. I am okay with that though. I just need to keep context.

1. Ready for the weekend. Glad today is Friday.
2. I put out the last three bags of leaves for trash pick-up today. Now I have to get the other half of my yard raked.
3. I had an early morning visit from a Wood Stork...they have the head of a dinosaur and the body of a bird. They kind of weird me out.
4. Thinking of planning a visit to Newcastle UK to visit a grad school friend.
5. My mother is moving to Miami at the end of July.
 
1. Had a citizen request the city to fix the potholes in her apartment complex's parking lot
2. Mom is coming up in October and running several scenarios by me.
3. Went to the baseball game last night and got rained out in the 4th
4. I love the landscaping around our house, but it is a pain to maintain
5. USWNT v. Sweden tonight
 
1. Vacation is next week. But I'm not feeling it if you know what I mean
2. Our secretary filled a bowl of chocolates at the front desk. She needs to stop that.
3. People have been really really snarky with me today for some reason
4. Picnic ham is good
5. I would estimate 30% of the FOIA requests we get are submitted with "extreme prejudice"
 
1) Woke up with a headache that won't go away. :-{
2) Too much to do at work and not enough time to do it.
3) I have this strange feeling that my boss is looking/interviewing elsewhere.
4) Driving to DFW this weekend for family/friends visit, and also to judge at the National HS Speech Tournament.
5) Why do I feel fat today? Was it the no veggies dinner last night?
 
1. Leaving for Phoenix today.
2. It's going to be hard saying goodbye to my wife and baby and not knowing when I'll get to join them again.
3. I have about a month and a half to figure out where I'm going to live.
4. Our townhome sold in one day and we got 9 offers. Accepted the one $15k over asking price. :)
5. Can't wait till this is all over and we're settled back in.
 
1) I just received an e-mail... closing is done, funds should be transferred into my new account in the next few hours.
2) Who cares about 2 - 5... I am happy with #1 as it was the final big check mark on our moving list.

1) Brain has already left for NOLA, but the plane doesn't leave 'til tomorrow.
2) With the Sr. Planner out next week, I've been asked to participate in a couple of interviews.
3) Had a blast judging the National H.S. Speech and Debate Tournament in Dallas earlier this week!!
4) My mom's knee replacement surgery went well and she is heading home today.
5) I'm packed and ready for this weekend!

5. It's important to keep tools sharpened. This is true for both the basement work bench and in life
 
1) I need to get decorating ideas for my apartment.
2) I am excited that one of my friends from MI is coming to visit in August, but not excited that his wife left him and moved to AZ.
3) Hoping to meet up with a guy that I worked with at my very first planning job. He was a great friend back then, and now we both have families with little kids.
4) I received my electric bill. I thought it would be higher... by 2 or 3 times. My utility costs here are going to be nothing compared to the cost to heat the house in GR.
5) I bought my truck two weeks ago tomorrow, still waiting for my new license plate to arrive.
 
1) Potluck lunch today for the retiring planner. My hot dish came out - well, just wrong - so I had to improvise this morning with a stop by the store.
2) While I haven't been here long enough to know her well enough to miss her on a personal level, I will miss her knowledge and great attitude.
3) I think we have a winner for the new Planner position!
4) Yesterday was interview day for two potential new Planning Directors. If neither one of them pass, then it's back to the drawing board - or turn to some of the maybes.
5) Going on a Food Truck tour tomorrow in the large Metro area. Should be fun!
 
1. I must remember to place a sentence or 3 from the Cyburbian Story in my next staff report
2. Benefits meeting this morning had good news - no rate increase
3. It's been too hot for me to do (or even want to do) one of my summer projects
4. Weekend away to golf with my brother

1. A lot of veggies coming in from my MIL's garden
2. Freecycled a small cabinet this week. Put it by the curb before we when out to dinner & it was gone when we came back
3. Broke another tooth - this time trying to be more healthy eating celery - dentist is on vacation - d@mn!+
4. I picked up what I thought was a chicken salad sandwich at a lunch meeting. Turned out to be tuna salad. That was not a nice surprise.

1) We ate ice cream at work today. I love this place!
2) My wife has been super awesome lately.
3) I really need to assemble the new bookshelves to organize my apartment.
4) Pondering covering my office walls with post its.
5) The weather is AWEEEESOME lately! Much better than the -20 to -30 I had to deal with last winter.

2. I am BURIED at work! But it is cool because now I have my sanity back.
3. I like the sound of rain on the roof of our building.
4. I am glad I am a gamer. I think it brings my brain more action than reading. Yep, I said it.
5. I want to eat something that tastes great, but that doesn't make me fat.
 
1. Yet another reason why I hate sprawl-mart, they almost refused to sell me beer last night because my daughter was underage.
2. They said it was to prevent underage drinking.
3. I kinda see the logic in that but the execution is flawed.
4. I would not have had an issue is I had my younger daughter with me instead of my almost 16 year old.
5. After discussing the issue with the Manager on duty, we resolved the issue; however, It was a lot of work for 6-pack.
 
1. I leave work in 8 minutes
2. I'm taking my new girlfriend to dinner tonight then staying at her home overnight
3. I'm going to a morning hike with a group tomorrow morning
4. My divorce papers are on their way starting today!
5. My son is staying at my parents next week, so I'm introducing my new girlfriend and her kids to my family on Sunday
 
1. Moving sucks.
2. Moving out of state sucks even more.
3. Moving when your one person doing all the packing sucks even more.
4. Did I mention moving sucks?

I went for a short bike ride tonight.
The bugs are bad this summer.
A doe along the trail was pretty tame and didn't run off when I rode past her.
I had a couple of "old home week" experiences today.
It's a perfect porch-sitting evening.

3. Junior gets back from his overnight campout last night. It rained last night, but I bet when I ask how it went I'll get a curt "fine" in response

4) Wife informed me that her insurance will not cover ABA therapy for our middle son.
5) we are looking to move our oldest to a different school track to match up with our Middle son's Pre-K track.

My coworker has a knack of asking me for help with something just as I'm trying to leave.
I'm enjoying being anonymous. It's worth repeating.
I haven't washed my work truck since September. I think I'll wash it before I go back
A long table is filling up with old ladies.
 
1. I love it when design professionals draw plans without visiting the site or talking to to someone that has talked to someone that has visited the site.
2. I want to go see the Minion movie this weekend but the youngest daughter wants to see the movie, "Max". I don't know if it's age appropriate for her or if I can watch it.
3. I've never been able to watch "Ole Yeller".
4. I get to go get fitted for hard contact lenses this afternoon, well see how this goes.
5. My oldest daughter returns home from a Church Youth group trip to up-state New York. It's been odd having just one child. I can't wait to see what she thinks as prior to the trip she thought NY and NYC where one in the same. I tried to tell her but....
 
1) It may be Friday, but I feel more like Monday.
2) I've got 3 hours to go, and I'm not sure I'm going to make because I am so apethetic right now.
3) Need to get crackin' on some Legal Lot Verification requests, but I just don't want to today.
4) Got an applicant to postpone their zoning case while we review their ownership records (something isn't right).
5) Going to the movies this weekend - anyone else planning on seeing Ant Man?
 
1. I am kind of excited that I may be getting chickens to raise. It seems like an intriguing challenge.
2. I am also kind of excited for the VAPA conference next week.
3. The Minions movie looks so adorable, but the closest theater is about 1 & 1/2 hour drive away.
4. There is never enough time to read all the books I want to.
5. I would like to try a beer braised pulled pork recipe (with ginger? Yum).
 
1. Today's the day I'm supposed to leave for NC, and the body shop hasn't finished my car. :-@

5. The guys at the concrete plant next door are so used to yelling over equipment that I can hear every word they say. And I listen. :D
 
1) I inverted the Planner uniform today - blue pants and khaki shirt!
2) Have a meeting late today to discuss who the CM selected for our next Director.
3) It'll hit triple digits this weekend, so I'm doing as little as possible outside.
4) I'm suffering from a book hangover this morning.
5) Toured the building that will be our temporary new office - temp meaning for the next 3-5 years.

1. Being evacuated from your home because of a gas leak isn't fun.
2. Although, It's better than being blown up or asphyxiating.
3. I was impressed that my wife, two daughters, and two dogs were able to wake up, get dressed, and get out in 5 minutes.
4. I am better prepared for sheltering at my house during an emergency than I am being evacuated.
5. Up until now, I thought bug out strategies were for end of civilization extremist and the paranoid.
 
1. Coaching two soccer teams this year. That is two too many.
2. I wish I could pull off wearing the weird sh!t in GQ magazine.
3. My facial hair, when allowed to go wild, grows in with brown, yellow, and red.
4. I like that one of my kids looks like me, and has hazel eyes. If one of them was only left handed....

After review I found this tidbit, "Niagara has established itself as a National leader in high quality affordable bottled water with geographically diversified production facilities throughout the United States." Good to know.

1) I dressed up today - not suit level, but way better than casual Friday.

3) I've got a submittal that makes no sense, but I'm under the gun to move forward. Gotta love the inherited projects!
4) No plans this weekend but errands - I really need to get more exercise!

3. This day is strange in how it is breaking into rather distinct segments
