1. Last night's radio meeting went far better than I expected
2. Junior has moderately bad seasonal allergies
3. There's a special kind of numbing powerlessness you feel when reading about dire environmental predictions for the next century and realize they'll likely be throwing the earth into turmoil during your children's lifetime
4. Life goes on long after the thrill of living is gone.
5. Can't believe Memorial Day is only a few weeks off.
 
1. I had a bagel with jalapeno cream cheese this morning. I"ll have to look for more of that.
2. My boots are muddy and the secretary may throw me out.
3. Someone who's been off my radar for a while is back on and it seems to be in a big way, which isn't going to be good for him.
4. When we moved to our home in WV, the new friends rode their bikes up the ramp and inside the moving truck.
5. I haven't been to a concert hall in a while.
 
1. A close friend is having a tough time with her ex.
2. At what point does a hollow threat become a police call?
3. I wish it was nicer this weekend.
4. I need to do something nice for my wife.
5. She stayed at home with the kids while I got to "enjoy" Atlanta.
 
1. Right now no one I know is hitting me up for relationship advice. I'm okay with that.
2. I'm trying to find the fast forward button so I can cue up to 5:00 p.m.
3. You ever try to picture what your internal organs look like? I do.
4. The school millage passed.
5. A lot of seniors kill me how they think they shouldn't have to pay property taxes to finance schools. Just because you don't have kids attending doesn't mean you don't benefit from good schools.
 
  1. It was 88 degrees at dinnertime last night. AWESOME!
  2. This morning's rain made the drive in challenging.
  3. I don't care about the NFL draft and thought Johnny Football was an SNL skit.
  4. Seeing everything leaf out and bloom is such a nice change from this insane winter
  5. I want to buy a sail boat.
 
1. I kinda wish I didn't have a radio show rehearsal tonight
2. In fact, I kinda wish the whole season was done. Alas, after Sat. there is still one more show.
3. I forgot to harvest the asparagus the last two days and it rained both days. I dread the jungle I will find this evening out back
4. I wonder how many hamburgers I eat in a year. I would guess in the neighborhood of 40
5. I'm feeling some decidedly non-ecumenical impulses this morning. That doesn't bode well for the meeting this a.m.

4. Having lived to two very different parks of the county gives you some interesting perspective.

1) Our nanny called in sick, and by a miracle, the in-laws came down to watch the kids today. (Both of them... FIL took the day off of work)
2) We did not have frost last night, but many parts if MI did... and the UP got snow. This weather is just stupid.
3) Picked up Krispy Kream doughnuts and coffee this morning.
4) Chatted with a neighbor that I had not seen in a while last night. They have the other single family owner occupied on our section of the street
5) Why don't they make a turbo diesel suburban?
 
1. The Man informs me there is no hot water and that he checked the breaker. I go downstairs and it's unplugged :) He utters an expletive and RT says leave stuff like this to mom :D
2. Hopefully the plumbers will be able to finish up today. I'd really like to not have to go to the laundromat.
3. I came to work in black yoga pants, long sleeved gray tshirt, and a pair of black and white checked Vans. I have a meeting at 3pm at the city. I don't give a shit.
4. This is turning out to be an epic pollen season. I have to take Zyrtec every 12 hours to keep allergies at bay. The pollen is making everything yellow.
5. Flying out to Louisville on Sunday, be there for a week. I am ready to not be in my office.
 
1. I treated myself to a scoop of ice cream. I'm glad that the new office has a refrigerator freezer.
2. Sometimes I know that people are being sued before they know.
3. Yesterday's torrential rain and full moon caused some wacky driving.
4. "Wait until you get your permit" means just that.
5. Treasured secretary is on vacation for a week. This place might just go to hell before she returns.
 
1. Another "the world ends in nuclear war" prediction yesterday
2. I watched the "Gummy Bear Song" on youtube this a.m. at my son's insistence. I will never get those 2.5 minutes of my life back
3. Then I was compelled to watch a "What Does the Fox Say" parody called "What Does the Farmer Say". Same thing.
4. Sorry I haven't been around much lately
5. The radio show season ends tomorrow! No more shows for the next 6 months! Yay!
 
1) 5-hour energy will kill you. I had to go home sick yesterday because of it.
2) I don't have a lot of respect for people who write anonymous letters complaining about stuff.
3) NO, I will not approve your request unless I have a sketch plan showing where the house is on the property. If you don't like it, withdraw your request and explain to the property owner why you are an incompetent buffoon and can't follow instructions or checklists.
4) Local business owner who complained about the rusty cars parking in downtown. I will be parking my car in front of your business for the duration of the summer. Rust and all.
5) Some real-estate agents are great to work with... but we all have the one who thinks that they are above the regulations and act like pathetic baby's when we ask them to follow the rules. Next time, I might take a chainsaw to your signs.



(I am not in a good mood today... and I am not able to drink coffee for the next few days because of the Over Dose of Caffeine from #1)
 
It's been a long short week.
It's bad when the building department has to be schooled on building codes.
STILL waiting for a CO because of #2.
No raises again this year. This is really getting old.
Pondering what to do this weekend.
 
1. Last day of school today for my kids.
2. He gets to shred his regular uniform shirt for the "senior class" uniform shirt.
3. This has him perversely excited, which is generally not a good thing.
4. She has all sorts of trepidation about field day today, especially because it is in gym uniforms, which is generally not a good thing.
5. All ends well however: they're going straight to the store after school to pick up their reserved copy of MarioKart8.
 
Lance peanut butter crackers are one of my go-to meal replacements.
My little and not well-planned flower + vegetable garden was looking pretty good this morning.
My oldest son is very independent.
I like working late on Friday afternoons instead of coming in on Saturdays.
I like my new little car more than I'm willing to admit.
 
1. At almost 30 weeks along now, the baby (and wifey!) is getting big.
2. Four weeks today we'll be in the Denver area closing on our new home.
3. Wish it were sooner. I just want to get the move over with.
4. I need more sleep, because I'm not going to get much pretty soon.
5. What an eventful next 3 months this is going to be!
 
1. I can't remember the last time I woke up feeling refreshed after a full night's sleep. It's been years.
2. Junior dropped/broke a glass pop bottle on the patio last night while we were grilling. He was capering about with the bottle in his hand minutes earlier joking about dropping it, and I warned him to be careful. He ended up losing access to any pop for the next 30 days.
3. Too much work to do today
4. My clothes feel uncomfortably tight right now
5. I hate it when the department is forced into the role/position of being social workers
 
  1. It is going to be warm this weekend
  2. I have not had enough coffee yet this morning
  3. Youngest did not sleep well last night
  4. My car does not have working AC
  5. Happy I am not having to be Mr. Social worker with Maister anymore.
 
1. I leave for Gunnison, CO in less than 30 days.
2. I like my new office.
3. I would like to only eat food grown in my garden one summer / fall.
4. Skyline chili isn't the greatest, but they make a good mustard.
5. The architect that came over to look at the house, made fun of my sketchup drawing ideas.
 
1. Wrapped up a closing this morning. Have a very happy new homeowner. I wish her well.
2. Down to one residential property for sale, the ED is opposing the use of a real estate agent. This is a very difficult property to sell although it is beautiful.
3. Now on to getting the redevelopment and purchase agreement hammered out with the town next door and get that project moving along.
4. Now I can clear off my desk :)
5. I need a new job.
 
1. I've had enough of my kids' drama.
2. Weather for the past few days has been pleasant.
3. Buying a new Jeep for work was a fun vicarious experience.
4. I'm surprised at the number of people who wait to take pictures of an urban bald eagle nest.
5. It's time for an introvert recovery day.
 
1. The family dined at a Mexican restaurant last night. There was a big Aztec pyramid model in the middle of the restaurant
2. Looks like the sugar snap peas are winding down, but it also looks like the polar vortex has returned so maybe the peas will make a resurgence
3. Plastic debit cards are all well and good for convenience but still they somehow lack the commercial air created by laying coins on a merchant's counter ("Aargh, gimme a bottle of rum" [smack gold doubloon on table])
4. Oh a sailor's life is not for me
5. Roast beef sounds good. I may have to dig out a good recipe for this weekend
 
1. That 'tell a lie about the person above you' thread is fun
2. My boss often can't see the forest for the trees. That's not a particularly desirable quality in a leader.
3. We talk about travelling to Ireland but in my heart of hearts I get the feeling there's always going to be one more day camp to pay for, furnace repair, or broken down car that'll get in the way. Short of borrowing the money or saving until we're in our 70's I don't see how it'll happen
4. I've never used a GPS device
5. I guess the house needs painting now.
 
1. I am definitely more of a detail person than a "big picture" person.
2. Maister and his wife should make it a goal to visit Ireland in the next five years.
3. If you don't make it a priority, it won't happen... trust me. :)

1. We'll try to get a few more things out of the basement this weekend to either sell at the consignment shop or donate to Goodwill

3. as the animal kingdom goes it's very hard to top dogs in the likeable department
4. I like it when dogs 'talk' to you. I stopped at a traffic light this morning, looked over and saw a golden retriever was passenger in the car next to me. He looked back at me and said "hi" in a most friendly fashion, then promptly returned to whatever it is he was doing.
5. I just heard that the top 250 richest people on earth control 1/3 of the planet's wealth. If true, there's something horribly horribly wrong with this picture.

Cable Guy told me he could not install service last night so he came back this morning.
Not sure why it is taking so long to just run wires. I should just be glad he showed up at all.
My new furniture should arrive today.
Lost some of the notes I need to help mentor a friend studying for the AICP.
Hoping my suck-up e-mail to my old Planning History professor will help me get the notes I am missing.
 
1. It's August 1st and I feel like summer is passing by too quickly.
2. I still haven't weeded the perennial garden.
3. I'll be amazed if hubby gets around to working on the deck this year.
4. Our deck really needs some attention: e.g., replacing rotting boards, scraping, staining.
5. I think I'll drive over to the state park and walk the trails tomorrow.
 
  1. Mini-skis did great at work. He even talked to a developer about deforestation and the potential loss of animal habitat. (Thanks wildkratts) :lmao:
  2. By the sounds of it, our new neighborhood park is too crowded today

  4. The youngest fell asleep in his walker by the back door. He tired sim self out playing with the dog's bell

3. 99% of the humanity appears to be made up of twits and maybe 1% or so that manages to keep civilization going. (yeah I'm one of the 99%)
4. My wife and son are really pushing to get a dog now. I was okay with it before but I'm having second thoughts. I mean It's nice to walk out in the back yard without having to worry about land mines
5. Within the next few (emphasis on few) years the house will need to get a new furnace, re-painted, re-shingled, and replace the driveway

2. I have to stop and get some $5 flowers at the florist for my wife's birthday tomorrow - $5 every Friday!
3. Making plans for the zoo tomorrow - wife want to hang with the kids before they leave her for school.
4. Shopping tonight to get the fajita and margarita supplies for birthday dinner.
5. If I have time I'll do some shopping at Lowe's to finish framing my new kitchen arches.
 
1. I wish my boss would be consistent: either be engaged or disengaged. It's hard on staff when she vacillates between the two.
2. I met with my old GC today. He may be staging a comeback since he's not happy with his current employer. I took him on a tour of the projects that were starting/underway when he left and that are now finished. He was impressed.
3. It's nice to hear someone say that they really respect the work that you do and how you do it.
4. Just received a call that I was chosen for a very selective leadership program run by the business school. It meets one day a month for a year.
5. The office feels empty with many staff taking advantage of the flex Friday summer hours.
 
1. I've never seen a Sandra Bulloch movie.
2. My new contact lenses are so much better than eyeglasses.
3. Grown women can be as nasty as 13 year old girls.
4. I have the house to myself right now.
5. The big parade files past my house tomorrow, then the 150th celebration is over.
 
1. Is Thanksgiving the next holiday following Labor Day? That's almost three months
2. Some days the pointlessness of our existence is more evident than others
3. Sometimes I perceive ringing phones to be an assault
4. haven't figured out how to find the time to pull off making dinner, Family Video Night and workout at the Y yet, but I will
5. Harvested some tomatoes last evening. Seems like the cherry tomatoes did well but the main season 'mater harvest has been disappointing

I LOVE Moe's. I am a steak home-wrecker guy (without sour-cream or lettuce, plus extra hot sauce)
 
1. Most activities at the Y have been closed this week due to facility repairs
2. Family video night tonight. I'm thinking a couple episodes of (the new) Cosmos are in order
3. Seth Macfarlane produced Cosmos.
4. There is no hits of the 1980's format radio station around here that I'm aware of. That's a good thing.
5. Alaska's economy has not been doing very well the last couple years
