Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Friday

1. I came to work with an ear ache.
2. I feel crappy.
3. I'm getting my hair cut after work.
4. It's not much of an event.
5. Then I'm going home and going to sleep.
 
1) The Number 10,000 written as a roman numeral is an X with a line above it.
2) If you posted once a day, for 27 years and 138 days, it would total 10,000 posts (depending on leap years and when you start.. it might be 139 days.)
3) In a normal lifetime, the average american will eat 10,000 pounds of meat.
4) 10,000 is the first 5 digit whole number.
5) The band 10,000 Maniacs have had 17 different band members.
 
1. It's raining and kind of muggy.
2. The Commander is in the shop.
3. Hopefully today is not as busy as the last 2 Fridays.
4. It is already starting to feel as though it will be.
5. Need to help my wife with recycling at school since I have the only vehicle today.
 
1. I got to go to a "soft" opening last night.
2. I felt special.
3. I don't like limited menus.
4. We are going to Disney world in November.
5. This in no way pleases me.
 
1. if I had a pick a word to describe my mood/feeling today it would have to be 'recovery'
2. There's a nice bluegrass song by the Seldom Scene playing in my head right now
3. woke up at 3:00 with a trash nightmare and couldn't get back to sleep
4. 'Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner' is a better title for the song than the tune actually delivers IMHO
5. Time to listen to some Warren Zevon, I guess.....awoooooo werewolves in London... :8: (would anyone care to comment on what they think Warren was singing about in that tune?)

3. Today is a no RJ Friday
4. Other people in the office need to RJ too
5. Why can't camels be more excited about Friday?
 
1. I have filled my quota of being patient with determined ignorance today.
2. It may be a long rest of the day.
3. Hopefully everyone will get the memo that it's Friday and leave me in peace to catch up on minutes and filing.

5. Friends coming over for dinner and drinks tonight. Hope none of them is judgmental about housecleaning standards.

  4. Nervous about my 25 mile bike trek tomorrow

1. I love reading about all of your days. I don't know why that is, but I do.

2. Daughters recently talked me into getting an instagram account, and I've enjoyed it thus far.

3. This led to discussion about Twitter, which led to a decision to get the Pauline Botchko dummy a twitter account so she can regale the void with her opinions. I said I'd do it if they'd help write.

4. I should be happier, things are pretty good this week, but there's a pensive melancholia settling in....

5. ...it's probably the Coldplay coming over the speakers....."Questions of science, science and progress, do not speak as loud as my heart...."
 
1. Too much to accomplish in one day.
2. Knocked out a bid proposal in 45 minutes. Sometimes I impress myself.
3. Our server is infected with an annoying virus, nothing that eats files or surfs pron.
4. A second person in my department turned in her notice. I am happy for her.
5. Is it sad that I am looking forward to getting a "new to me" desk since cubicles are being installed in an office downstairs. It's an old school steel desk from the 60s or 70s. Much better than they cheapy chinese made one I have now.

1. massive quantities of beer and chicken dinners plannned this weekend
2. the diet will start in earnest on Monday
3. Some holidays I think it would suck to share a birthday with (e.g. Christmas), but others it might be kinda cool (e.g. Halloween)
4. I can't wait to get out of here today!
5. gotta remember to stock up on Spatz's bread this weekend
 
1. No trip to the country house this weekend :(

2. Mrs. Maister has had lots of problems with her acid reflux the last two months, but I am getting majorly tired of eating bland foods for dinner.

5. We had a gang leader's car towed the other day. Now he's out to get us. Boo.
 
1. I had the Arby's Smokehouse Brisket for lunch.
2. That is really all I can say about it.
3. This weekend I get to go to a new employees dinner for my wife.
4. It is at a country club.
5. I hate smoozing with these types of people. I love smoozing in general though.

5. 12 hour round-trip drive to visit the in-laws. Woo-hoo!

2. I was honest. If they don't like that, I guess it's a bad fit?
3. There is not really a good way to dress down a black pinstripe pencil skirt in a business casual environment so as not to arouse suspicion.
4. Took my boss out to lunch on his last day and had a delicious Caribbean jerk chicken pizza.
5. I hope to know more about my future in a week or so.

2. The school's homecoming parade is tomorrow.
3. I saw something that looked like a giant golf tee being hauled down the highway.
4. I discovered a great shortcut to get back to the office, and I drive straight across downtown.
5. That's a cool thing about working in a city that's called The Golden Triangle.
 
1. Received a clear to close on one of the homes we developed. Closing will be Wednesday!
2. It's a 3 day weekend
3. Get to have lunch with a Cyburbian on Sunday
4. We got paid on time this week

2. Ever notice how most zoning maps really don't seem to make a lot of sense how they came together?

4. Marx was a great thinker. Did he get everything right? No, but then who does? Why some insist on demonizing him is puzzling.
5. It would be cool to have more fruit growing in the back yard. Raspberries would be especially nice.

3. For some reason I find 'getting into' Thanksgiving this year much easier than Halloween

1. Today I finished Xmas shopping for the kid.
2. I wanted to ship a holiday box along with the other stuff we're shipping to his new abode in 10 days.
3. Except for one gift we'll order from Amazon and have shipped directly to him.
4. Date night with RJ tonight.
5. Gloomy, rainy day here today.
 
1. Get possession of our new house in 2 weeks
2. Closing on the current house in 4 weeks
3. I would rather just pile up all our possessions and have a big bonfire than move everything, but Mrs. Tranplanner says "no"
4. Shaved my beard off to participate in Movember
5. I can't wait for Decembeard.
 
1) Curbs and apron will get poured today... no access to driveway all weekend.
2) Need to finish getting the house ready for winter.
3) I have a piece of lint stuck to the inside of my iPhone lens
4) Wife texted me a video of boy #2 standing on his own and walking about 5 steps. (this is massive progress)
5) I had no night meetings this week... but I had a sinus infection so it was not so much fun.
 
1. It's 9:10 PM, and I'm already home from a movie and dinner.
2. It was not date night.
3. Some of my coworkers like to chase windmills.
4. I have to recharge after spending 4 days with 300 people.
5. I know someone who wants to be a faith healer.
 
1. Stayed home with Junior yesterday afternoon. Got a call from school around noon. Turns out he was "sick"
2. I enjoyed Elementary last night. Particularly when Sherlock Holmes used the phrase "social climibing trollop"
3. It would be nice if the world wasn't so uptight, man.
4. Looking forward to doing home brewing. Haven't done it in years
5. Lunch promises the other half of the Jersey Giant sandwich I got for lunch yesterday.
 
1. Snow was falling in the northern part of the county.
2. The sun is shining now.
3. Three day weekend!
4. I might take off next Friday.

1. Although exhausted when he got home, Jack survived his two days and one night at doggy daycare.
2. I had to call a window guy to schedule an appointment to fix the single-hung window that came off the track. It will take him less than 5 minutes to fix. I'm mechanically incompetent.
3. Decided not to get the home equity loan line of credit to have the pool screen enclosure repaired. I wish there was another alternative than writing a check.
4. Forgot the prosciutto that I needed for the chicken breast recipe I was planning to make. Barbecuing steaks instead.
5. I got absolutely nothing done today.

1. My homebrewing pupil has taken off for deer camp. Guess we'll check on the carboy at his house in a couple of weeks
2. I sometimes feel ambivalent when my superiors ask me to use my knowledge of the zoning code to help them figure out ways to circumvent it
3. Pizza sounds good for dinner tonight. Preferably Chicago style.
4. wonder if btrage ever got a hold of any Uncle Bob's sauce for his bbq?
5. Junior had a pretty good report card, but we're seeing a trend now where the last couple teachers have said he often does the bare minimum needed to get by.
 
1. The Thanksgiving Day plans are taking shape.
2. We're not happy with our property management company that we use for our rental house.
3. No plans for tonight, dinner or otherwise.
4. I have not purchased Uncle Bob's BBQ sauce yet.
5. I laugh more watching one 30-minute episode of The Daily Show, than I do watching 3, 1.5 hour episodes of SNL.
