Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Friday

1. I am thinking about moving to Canada and establishing citizenship there. How seriously? on a scale of 1 to 10 about a 2.
2. It's funny how economic issues can so thoroughly dominate our lives and our thinking under some conditions
3. You ever actually stop and think about the premises of certain fairy tales? Man, they are just wierd. Take Rumplestiltskin for instance.
4. Is there really such a state as being "caught up at work"? Wouldn't that actually be sort of a bad thing?
5. I have seldom welcomed the coming of a weekend as eagerly as I do today.
 
1. More junk to look at. Yes, rural farmers collect junk. I'm shocked.
2. I think I need to find a way to RJ, but I doubt it will happen.
3. People are complaining it's hot, I keep reminding them it's not Arizona hot.
4. Telling me, but it's a dry heat tells me you've never been in a desert - humidity sucks and makes you sweat, but hot is hot.
5. I think I need to take my daughter to the tennis courts this weekend so she can show off.
 
1. I plan on picking up sticks in my yard this weekend.
2. The storms the last couple days have made my yard a stick wasteland.
3. I might start my barn project too. New barn doors here we come.
4. The wife is not keen on me making barn doors.
5. I am.

There's a little something called a "Site Inspection" that you must conduct and it's probably going to take awhile so I might not be back. You can always reach me by phone. Have an rj in your day!
 
1. Had an all-day required continuing legal education on ethics yesterday, required for my Virginia law licensure.
2. I was freshly reminded what a self-important bunch lawyers can be.
3. I will strive not to be like that. It's not attractive.
4. People (especially older lawyers) seem to assume that being a lawyer is synonymous with power and wealth. This has not been my experience. It annoys me.
5. I'm so happy to have a planning job now.
 
1. just got reamed out for forgetting about an old enforcement case
2. wish I could sleep for the rest of the day
3. garden isn't much fun now, I lost all of my main crop - beans
4. two more weeks until Mrs. Maister has her surgery
5. (sigh)
 
1. First five day workweek in a while is almost over!
2. I'm loving the high temps this week, although my lawn and electric bill may not.
3. I want to go tubing down a river, but Metro Detroit is not the place to do that.
4. Still have to take the girls to see Despicable Me 2.
5. How awesome are the Minions?
 
1. I've been feeling stressed all week.
2. I'm blaming the heat wave (and lack of AC).
3. Multiple fans running = too much noise
4. I'd like to take the afternoon off to run errands in my air-conditioned car
5. But I'm waiting for an important e-mail.
 
1. Baby Midori is 10 months old today.
2. His first teeth finally broke through his gums yesterday.
3. I am drafting design review or historic district guidelines for 3 different communities right now.
4. Sometimes when I stray from what other communities have done I worry about whether I'm "doing it wrong."
5. I guess someone always has to be the first one to try something new.
 
1. It's Friday. That is a good thing.
2. Not excited about Saturday, but Mrs. Hink is home all weekend so that is nice.
3. I am putting up a hammock tonight. The kids are going to kill themselves on it.
4. I over analyze a lot of things in my life. Finances, job, kids.
5. I need to learn to relax more. And find enjoyment in it.
 
1. Cheer up Maister, just hide under your desk and think about ducks
2. I'm with Btrage, I want a minion
3. I also want a hammock, but the kids would break it in no time
4. I get my new house on Monday
5. And I dread the heavy lifting during the move on Tuesday.

2. Credit is a debit by the time it gets to me.

4. Fresh local peaches are the best!

Conduct a "windshield survey" of businesses or sites you need to take pictures of. Gets you out of the office for a good portion of the day. I always reserved my windshield surveys and photo taking for the best weather days.
 
1.) I hereby declare today "Fictional Friday"
2.) I have created that declaration because I am consistently being asked to provide information that can not possibly exist (and it's getting on my nerves).
3.) I think it's really time for a vacation so I don't accidentally snap on someone.
4.) Very excited about my upcoming vacation next month.
5.) Is it next month yet?
 
1. I'm so tired that I feel like I'm floating.
2. Last night, I had a Krispy Kreme raspberry jelly donut for dinner.
3. That's probably my favorite donut.
4. I might go to Fiestaware outlet on Sunday.
5. Overtime is making my savings account grow, and is making me sleepy.

3. I am done designing the house we are going to build in Sketchup.
4. I wonder how exact cost estimation programs are
5. I am too cheap to buy a $30 estimate.
 
1. Doing asbestos surveys on houses we want to demo today.
2. The girls are going to their aunt and uncles house tonight, so they can volunteer tomorrow at the Wheelchair Daze Picnic.
3. Dinner will be just me and the wife...one of the things I look forward to the most.
4. My wife watches Sons of Anarchy, but I never watched it with her. I'm now trying to catch up on my Kindle Fire, before season 6 starts. Great show.
5. Contractor is coming tomorrow to give ideas/estimates on a concrete walkway/patio. I'm scared.
 
Is it Friday?
Wife come home this weekend after a month visit to her family.
No shower stall door; I did get the old one off.
Painted 'her' bathroom cabinets. doors/hardware not back on; the former contents are in the bathtub.
I 'think' I paid all the bills.
 
I'm doubling up. Why? Because I can.

1. Today would have been my 10 year anniversary.
2. Ten years ago, I didn't think I'd be planning my SECOND wedding 10 years later, but here I am.
3. The fiancee has been bugging me for some sushi, so guess where we are going to dinner tonight?
4. No. Not McDonald's, wiseguy. :not:
5. Kind of bittersweet about a work trip next week.
6. Good - I've never been to Dallas and I will be learning some interesting stuff.
7. Bad - The trip is Friday through Sunday. There goes my weekend. :(
8. Oh well. Bonus points in the eyes of the boss are good.
9. I'm stronger in the gym than I've been in 3+ years.
10. After this week and last night's workout I need a good night's sleep!

1. It is unseasonably cool and refreshing outside, and the first day in, oh, forever that the humidity is not through the roof and rain is not threatened or occurring.
2. Am I jealous that husband took another day off work to play in the yard? Yes, I am.
3. I am all out of site visits to get me out of the office today.

3) Living with the girlfriend is going really well.
4) I need to join a band; I miss playing drums every day and playing a show almost every week
5) It's a quiet day in the office.. so I'm playing air drums as I formulate sentences for my report. Glad no one is around to see it *swings arms frantically :h:

1. Read an article yesterday about a coffee that costs $600/pound that's made from coffee beans pooped by civets. I'd heard about it before but it was still funny.
2. I need to have a day to reconnect with nature stat!
3. Hopefully electronic maps will never end up replacing good ol' atlases
4. I'm looking forward to sesonal fall activities
5. Had a wonderful ground beef burrito for dinner last night.
 
1. I have a rare Friday afternoon meeting scheduled.
2. Heading to Grand Rapids in the morning to do some more work on the rental house.
3. I can be a very judgmental neighbor sometimes, but that's what happens when you rototill your front yard at 9:30 p.m. with a flashlight.
4. I think 5th grade is going to do wonders for teaching my daughter more responsibility and maturity.
5. I've been trying to find somewhere online where I can watch Sons of Anarchy Season 5 for free, but I've had no luck.

4. I think i'll rototill my yard late tonight because my neighbors won't mind (WTF?)

1. There seems to be a lot of intrigue in my department at work lately.
2. It's not always easy to focus on work when that's the case. More interesting things afoot.
3. I really dislike the "my neighbor is running water onto my property" calls. Almost as much as the "my neighbor said he's going to sue me because I'm running water onto his property" ones.
4. I have two empty coffee mugs, a travel mug, and a water bottle on my desk. That's about average.
5. My library books are due tomorrow.

I painted it and stuff. You know, so it looks all cool, and hip.

The best plain whole hog you can have it spit roasted. Although I would change my mind if you said the best BBQ whole hog, because that involves sauces, sprays, and "other" stuff which I like in a smoker.

I am looking forward to next weekend!

1. this whole not working thing has gone from the relaxing to the stressful stage.
2. our dogs are not adapting to the new place well, had to break up a scrap last night and got bit.
3. good thing our maltipoo is pretty harmless
4. Virginia is for lovers is a pretty enigmatic state motto.
5. Hoping to do some exploring today
