1. Summer has started wear out it's welcome
2. Though I do feel for y'all living in snow county
3. Y'all do get pretty Falls though
4. Making plans for Thanksgiving
5. Travel season starts in three months.
 
1) Job applications are a PITA!

2) Sister is having major surgery in October. I'm planning on being with her for a while afterwards.

3) However, I don't have a job yet, and don't know if the nursing visit will interfere with interviews/start dates.

4) Parentals returned from a long, European vacation. Once they recover their sleep, they'll start expecting me to visit them.

5) Tomorrow is September! How can that be?!?!
 
1. It's very quiet here today.
2. Why does Customer Service ask Planning about Public Works matters?
3. Mrs. P's last day at her (soon-to-be) old job. She starts the new job Tuesday. This is a very good thing.
4. The car thermometer said 100 when I left work yesterday & it went down to 96 by the time I was home.
5. Mom turns 85 next week!
 
1. A mistake by the consulting engineer will give the city 300' of free 10" sewer
2. It's hot and continues to be hot - please dear autumn come hither
3. Teenager parenting is not always that fun - consider that a preview to those with younger kids
4. Very busy weekend beginning tonight and slammed packed until Sunday night
5. I found a 1936 comic book in very good condition in an old family trunk & it appraised for $500-$600 which will go to The Girl's college fund
 
1. A couple of rain drops have started to fall
2. All plans this weekend have been cancelled
3. I'm hoping there are just sporadic power outages here, not widespread
4. My friend & neighbor has a tree he's concerned about but figures he'll get a new roof and windows if "IT" happens
5. Like Big Owl said - I'm as ready as I'm going to be
 
1. Florence is in Waffle House territory. So the Waffle House Index applies.
2. I miss Waffle House. It is one of my few regrets of moving to the West Coast.
3. But at least there's a Denny's here!
4. And this town is more of a 24/7 city than Columbus, GA, which is like 10 times the size.
5. Walmart is also open 24/7 here. I wouldn't have come here if it had no Walmart.
 
1. I miss Waffle House too but there are more than enough diners in NJ to compensate.
2. The office is very quiet today, only 4 of us here today. Oddly we all inhabit the 4 corners of the office.
3. Thinking about my friends in the Carolinas as Florence rolls in and sets up shop.
4. Thinking about my extended family in Lawrence, MA which is half evacuated due to natural gas explosions.
5. Looking forward to a low key weekend.
 
1. I woke up this morning thinking it was Saturday - d@mn was I disappointed when I figured out it wasn't
3. I had a coupon for buy 10 wings, get 10 wings at the restaurant with the owl for a logo - it was not worth it
4. It's the wicked witch of finance's last day today - of which many are grateful
2. There's a particular home improvement tool I'd like to buy - I just can't pull the trigger
5. The humidity here has been outrageous - yesterday evening we were sweating while standing & that's not a good thing
 
1. I probably sneeze every other day on average
2. I've never really thought about that before
3. Hope to get some grilling in this weekend. Maybe one more pizza
4. You can feel the season is wanting to change. The leaves aren't changing yet, but there's something hard to define that's different in the air

5. Other than stressing about not getting enough done on that, I'm fairly pleased overall with life, the universe and everything. Um, for the moment at least. It probably won't last.
 
1. Picking up mom at the airport after lunch today, she's with us for the weekend as the start of her annual October Leaf Vacation
2. Cupcakes are being offered for a co-workers birthday - that's breakfast
3. I just heard an elderly lady's list of complaints about her apartment complex, which incidentally isn't even in our jurisdiction
4. I'd like to have more lunch/dining options downtown, we presently have 4ish
5. It's been a wet and weary week
 
1. It's been a long week.
2. Today is payday, there's even some leftover after bills.
3. I am going to the beach house this weekend.
4. I hate the historic preservation office.
5. My pharmacy sucks.
 
1) Political attack ads are the cornerstone of Party Over Person politics. I hate them.

2) Both sides are guilty, but one is way worse than the other in misleading content.

3) It's rained so much the yard hasn't dried and we have mushrooms all over the yard and neighborhood!

4) My dog did really well visiting another house with cats earlier this week. She's so chill!

5) State Fair of Texas started today. I'm going this year! :tx::thumbsup:
 
1. I've been blogging about an old boyfriend, one of the great people in my life that helped me really recover from my childhood trauma.
2. Trying to figure out how to carve out some space to validate people and care about them and so forth.
3. So many women are so angry, and rightly so. But anger will eat you up.
4. I was a very angry young woman. I eventually put it down.
5. I don't know if I can find a way to reach out to the many enraged people of the world and offer some peace. Trying often seems to make me the target of their rage.

2. I'm glad I don't have to deal with 35,000 bees today or tomorrow or ...
3. The Braves will NOT make the World Series playing like they did last night
4. According to the owner, the new pub downtown is supposed to open at the end of the month, but he said that last month too
5. Because of construction in downtown, there are a couple idiots around here that thinks its okay to park on the sidewalk.
 
1. "I live without a car. I came here because it is pedestrian friendly." works vastly better than "I moved here to get myself off the street." when making chit chat with new people.
2. It's only taken me a year to figure that out. I'm quick like that.
3. Art reception! I have a life!
4. Last night's 3 hour reception was invitation only. I'm all special. :)
5. Tonight and the other five days it's open to the public. (I would invite you good folks, but I don't think any of you are in the PNW. Cyburbia skews strongly East Coast or Eastern half of the US, iirc.)

1. My AC is fixed, kind of.
2. It needs a new controller board, but the tech did a temporary fix to get the unit running.
3. The new part will be here next week.
4. But it's cool enough that we don't need the AC right now.
5. He checked the heat too and that works fine.
 
1. Junior is playing at 'middle school band night' at the local high school football game tonight
2. I woke up feeling like a compete failure. But then at lunchtime I won a free medium fries at McD's 'Trick Treat Win' contest. So I got that going for me.
3. Awnings are considered wall signs
4. Be sure to use adequate concrete for your sign footings
5. Pets can be very entertaining
 
1) Locally, we had more damage from Hurricane Michael than we did Hurricane Florence.
2) My hockey team sucks this year. :-@
3) I wonder how long it would take to collect enough sample boards to clad one of my office walls with brick.
4) Our babysitter cleaned our house the other day, including the room that our youngest two share. I now feel like I need to pay for her college or something given the monumental task that she was able to achieve in just a few hours.
5) I wonder if anyone has done a study on people's expenditures thanks to the convenience of Amazon.
 
1. Low 50s here in the ATL at sunrise today.
2. The cooler weather has energized the cats, which just happens to coincide with Mrs. Bubba's (questionable) decision to get them new toys with bells and catnip...
3. Should be a pretty quiet day at work (famous last words...).
4. Then again, I'm working from home today (see #2 above).
5. I may need to go out for lunch...I do need a haircut...yeah - that'll be my excuse.
 
1. Employee health screening went worse than expected
2. Last night we had left over ham stir fry for dinner. I went to pull it out of the microwave, dropped the dish on the floor and lost about a quarter of its contents
3. I hate dropping stuff
4. At least I didn't break the dish. Phwew!
5. Today promises to be a better day.
 
1. I deleted 4,000 emails yesterday that had piled up in the server. I thought I had already deleted them.
2. Cool finds under the street with the latest water & sewer project downtown.
3. My plans for tomorrow have been cancelled so I guess I'll do yardwork (ugh).
4. Meetings are filling up the calendar next week.
5. The DOT makes it so difficult to file reimbursement claims.

3. Junior has been doing better than expected with school this year. So far.
4. I have had a series of problem enforcement cases the last several weeks. I expect these things once in a while, but they're stacking up in succession

1) Being asked to please pull forward from the pick up window at a drive-through is a huge pet peeve of mine. Especially, when I order a single standard menu item.
2) We have discovered that in addition to band-ades and screen savers, or middle son has trouble dealing with school photo sessions. Those of you who have seen my FB post have seen proof.
3) I am feeling super drained today and tomorrow is a very busy day. I will be in bed early tonight.
4) Trying to decide between an iPhone 8, 8S, or Xr. What would you do?
5) There is an awesome director job that I would love to go for... but they have a residency requirement and I don't want to leave my house or my neighborhood and the wife would also need to get a new job since it would not be within her on-call radius.
 
A) I have been unable to clear my phone of voice-mails today. Every time I answer a VM or I am talking live, I get a new VM. It's kind of exhausting.
B) My kid on the ASD spectrum never took a school photo worth a darn. He just doesn't know how to smile on cue without looking utterly and completely forced.
C) I should have asked for more money to take on ADA responsibilities formally.
D) I'm going to be crushed if there isn't a Blue Wave come November 6th.
E) If you vote early, you should get a "do not disturb" cocoon to void all candidate outreach on all platforms. Somebody please see what you can do about this.:h:
 
1. Last night I finished the six pack of stout I purchased the previous Friday
2. That's six beers in six days.
3. Payday bars are my favorite candy bars at the moment.
4. Milky Ways are my favorite chocolate bar at the moment
5. For some reason I'm having difficulty with the idea of moderation recently

3. However, it gets up and going on a Saturday morning
4. Vacation in a littles less than three weeks.

3. Went to the doctor yesterday for the annual check up. He said my numbers were normal.
4. However, my left knee is acting up again which is not good.
5. Next week is shaping up to be quite busy.
 
1. The girls are in respite this weekend. WOOHOO!
2. I'm hoping to drive the parkway to enjoy the fall colors in the morning.
3. My shoulder/neck has been in severe pain for the last three days.
4. I scheduled my first massage ever for this afternoon to resolve it.
5. I GET TO WATCH WHATEVER I WANT ON NETFLIX THIS WEEKEND!
 
1) Girls Night tonight. I bought Hubby something he can heat up in the microwave for dinner.

2) Parental issues are mounting. I want to help out, but one parental unit makes it hard to volunteer my time.

3) Sister is coming over Thanksgiving!!

4) I can't wait until after election day - the political ads this year are so bad my stomach hurts.

5) Helping out my Alma Mater over the weekend!
 
1) Mrs. Maister is out of town. That means Boys Night.
2) It snowed for the first time this season last night. Got barely an inch
3) I like good quality coffee but not all the time so it will remain a special treat
4) I'm heading into the holiday season in bad shape
5) As stated previously, I am grateful election day is over
 
1) I have a very short fuse today due to a combination of my wife cracking her bumper by hitting something in a parking garage and then being like "Oh well... I must have hit something....", to finding out that my wifes suv needs new spark plugs, which requires removal of the intake manifold, to my middle son being suspended from before school care because of behavioral issues that were caused in part because of his autism, thus resulting in a meeting at lunch today with the Principal, the Vice Principal, the before school coordinator, and the schools lead special education teacher/behavior specialist, capped off by my wife informing me that she has to stay at work because she is on call and they have a later case scheduled resulting in me having to leave work early today to go pick up the kids. Wife thinks we should contact an atorney that specializes in Americans with Disabilities Act since the before school care coordinator and staff did not follow the risk resolution processes that were included as part of his IEP and have indicated that they will not do such.
2) I rather be covered in sawdust than sitting at my desk today.
3) I am sick and tired of the double standard against non-liberals, and I really wish there was a way that Trump would get impeached. His actions are an embarrassment to every American.
4) I am not working on Monday
5) My Red Wings are in town tomorrow night, but since the wife is on call, I am not going to the game... or to a bar to watch... or anywhere other than my couch.
 
1. A quiet weekend planned.
2. A three day weekend, which is even better.
3. However, it makes next week a hectic week.
4. This was my last 5 day work week for three weeks.
5. Thanks to a posting on another thread, I've got Police songs running through my head.

2. Soccer tournament this weekend is going to cold and we're missing 3 players - not gonna be fun
3. Mrs. P doesn't have the schedule flexibility with her new job which is not what was bargained
4. Lunch consisted of pit smoked chicken and it was delicious
5. I love when citizens call and complain about mud on the streets ... while its raining!
 
1) Cold wind arrived and now I have to wear an actual coat, rather than just a hoodie, when I walk the dog.

2) Sunshine helps, but I don't like cold winds.

3) Started a new series by an author that I like, but this is in a different genre. So far it's interesting.

4) Cleaned the dog blankets, but after only a couple days you can't tell by looking at them.

5) SO glad the political ads are over (for now).

1) Friday before Thanksgiving, and I'm just getting started on cleaning the house.

2) Guest doesn't arrive until Monday but still . . .

3) Two neighbors have up/are putting up as we speak the outdoor Christmas lights.

4) We don't do outdoor decorations, but I will put up indoor stuff after the first full week of Dec.

5) This year has gone by super fast . . .
 
1) I decided that I am going to do outdoor decorations this year. It will more traditional than Clark Griswold. In fact, there won't be any lights.
2) We have no family coming for this holiday.
3) My oldest still does not want to play hockey... even though we played a bit of street hockey the other day and several neighbors (all from up north) asked me when we got him started in hockey because he had great puck control.
4) Local Christmas Parade is this weekend. We went into the City to see it last year. This year we will see it from the comfort of our living room.
5) There are small family cemetery plots all over the place down here. It is weird seeing a small square of land in the middle of an active construction site.
 
1. Mrs. Bubba is off today - apparently this is the start of her not working another Friday for the rest of the year.
2. As I'm working from home today, that totally won't be annoying. :a:
3. The RE firm we used to buy our house a little over a year ago had their annual end-of-year party last evening - we went because it was a way to get a couple of free beers at our favorite neighborhood tavern.
4. Okay, fine, we also went because we like the couple that owns the firm, they live in our 'hood, we've employed their daughter as a pet sitter, etc. But, free beer helps. :b:
5. The Atlanta United lost last night, but still advanced to the MLS Cup final. I understand the principal of the two-leg aggregate score match-up, but "lose and advance" is still really weird...
