Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Friday

1. Youngest (18) started a welding job this week.
2. Looks like a child coal mine worker at the end of the day.
3. Asked if he'd rather be back at Lowe's...no.
4. Four day weekend for me.
5. Did not turn on the AC today, it was great.

1 - found out today I'm being tapped to chair our firm's Futures Committee. I'll be the first non-engineer. I'll also be leading a presentation on integrated resilience planning to the C-suite next week

2 - taking my 5 year old to her first real concert this weekend... we went with Fitz and the Tantrums since it us usually a good crowd experience

3 - tomorrow is probably the final water park day of the year

4 - my garage+ADU in the backyard is scheduled for final+CO inspection on Tuesday next week!

5 - family movie night tonight is a classic - Honey I Shrunk the Kids

Fitz & The Tantrums always put on a great show! Honey I Shrunk the Kids is one of the great family movies of its era.

1. We got out an hour early. I entirely backroaded it home because of all the Shoobies heading to the Jersey Shore for the weekend.
2. Local Summer starts next week. IYKYK.
3. My new job with the state has been all consuming this summer, but we’re ready to launch a new RFP process next week.
4. I’m glad I went on vacation for two weeks even though it was unpaid leave.
5. My youngest has joined JROTC.
 
1) It has been a busy week and I am looking forward to some downtime over the weekend.
2) I have several work related errands that I need to run this afternoon.
3) I am having a hard time figuring out what tree I want to replace next to the pool. Wife want's to cut down the crepe myrtle because it is way too messy. I love the shade it provides.
4) Thinking about cooking grilled salmon for dinner tonight.
5) I don't think I will be attending any conferences this fall. Too much going on at work.
 
1 - had a dream about one of my former cats last night. Pretty odd
2 - employee appreciation lunch today & we had bbq sandwich, a couple sides & a tart sized cheesecake
3 - all I want to do now is take a nap after that employee appreciation lunch
4 - many decades ago one of the malcontents' grandparents donated a piece of land in downtown for a park (it's named after them too) - It was recently enlarged and improved as part of our downtown project - the malcontent now wants to buy the property back but won't say why except that 'we don't like the way the city uses it.'
5 - going to the symphony tomorrow night to hear Pink Floyd symphonic
