Making the bed today and I placed 8 pillows on the bed. More are off to the side as these are the actual sleeping pillows used but are not on the bed during the day.
 
One per occupant is the goal. However, Mrs. Maister's 146 other pillows argue otherwise.:(
 
Yeah this decorative pillow thing has gotten completely out of hand.

On a related note, what is it with some hotels now having these little square pillows instead of regular sized ones? I can't remember offhand if it's Hilton or Marriott brands but I think it's one of them.
 
Not frugal nor a college student, but this divorcee only needs one. Firm, for side sleepers, thank you very much.
 
My wife and I each have 2, plus she also sleeps with a body pillow. And we currently have one decorative. So 5 while sleeping, 6 while the bed is made.
