They say manners are the foundation of a civilized society. And having conventions about how to eat certain foods is something we find across the board everywhere in every culture. The pouring melted cheese over an assembled burger matter that was raised recently on a different thread brings this issue to the forefront.
Do you know anyone who eats pizza with a knife and fork? Mrs. Maister does. I, on the other hand, tend to treat it as finger food. The one exception is possibly if the pizza is a deep dish that's super drippy with sauce, then I might use a knife and fork, but the other 99% of the time it's finger food.
How do you tend to eat fried chicken - with a knife and fork? If you eat it as finger food, do you pinch off pieces of the coating with your fingers or do you hold the whole piece and eat it like you might eat spare ribs? Speaking of spare ribs, anyone use silverware for that?
What are your quirks or peeves when it comes to table manners?
