It seems like every 2nd or 3rd throw by that guy was okay, the rest were wildly inaccurate. I think he isn't thinking the game at NFL speed yet. Watching a performance like that makes me appreciate Josh Allen so much more.

My New Years Eve was watching two and half periods of the Buffalo Sabres barely keeping up with the Dallas Stars before eventually collapsing and losing by 2 goals. I rode the train back to Fort Worth.

Prior to the game I was considering ambling from the train station over to the Near Southside and ringing in the New Year at one of the bars or breweries there, but by the time I got off the train I decided that I'd rather be in a fixed fortification than out with all the crazies when midnight struck. Got home a little after 11 pm. Fort Worth did not disappoint. It sounded like a war zone until after 1 am.
 
I peeked into Nextdoor this morning. It's kind of a tragic feeling to see so many people didn't bother to bring their dogs in last night during the festivities and now they're out and about. People know this happens every year, but they leave their dogs out. Morons.

Happy New Year! My resolution: breakout farther from the I-90 Chicago-Albany corridor + DC + CLT + RDU in the job search. Also, be less shy when it comes to saying "hi" with strangers, and casual flirting.

Also, random things.

I'm having lunch at a Chili's,sitting at the bar, and eating an off-menu special that fills me up for about $14, including tip.

1). There's a couple of old blue collar guys sitting a few stools away from me. They're paying for their meal. Both take their wallets out, and HOLY SHIT, they both pull out wads of $100 bills. I don't know if this is everywhere, but it's an "old Buffalo" trait for sure; blue collar-ish men between 60 and the grave, especially old Italian-American men, who carry loads of cash on them, often in rolls kept together with a rubber band.

2). There's a young couple on the other side. The woman has the worst case of vocal fry and uptalk I've heard in the real world on this side of the 5. Every word, every sentence. Worse than any influencer from 310 and 818. Worse than this.

 
There's an undergrad-aged guy at one of the booths, talking non-stop, holding an iPhone with a rose gold case.

It comes from working under the table, especially if they're not the top contractor. Very common with the, umm, undocumented immigrant workforce here.

I would prefer to have Fridays off. I am good with Monday-Thursday. 7A-5P with no lunch.
 
I had a job in the past that was 9/80, so I was off every other Friday. I loved that!!

At my last job, before COVID sent us home, I was WFH on Mondays. That was nice. While it wasn't a 4/40 schedule, I felt like being home on Mondays was a good way to ease into the work week.

Here we're WFH on Weds. Most of the time that's good, but sometimes I wish it was a different day. We do not have the option of a 4/40 schedule.

In the car there was a dash board clock
At home on the microwave & pc
Driving around bank time displays
 
about the no lunch thing - I know I could stand to miss a meal but lunch is a meal I wish I could skip but I can't - dinner, I can easily skip but not lunch

and I absolutely thought JNA would wear a watch since he doesn't like smart phones

There's probably some profound biological reason for it, but I find I'm the same way. I frequently do without breakfast, and I can do without dinner, but not doing lunch for some reason messes up my core functions.

Yes. And people who schedule meetings that START at exactly 1:00 p.m. - what the hell? Lunch is sacred. For many of us, it's all we have. Literally. I want to read, sleep, watch, walk, chat. I'm not coming back early for your stupid meeting; schedule it at 1:30, moron. The only thing worse than a 1:00 p.m. meeting is when there is an office function for lunch. I am a social person, but I cannot stress enough that lunch. Is. Sacred.
