The North Carolina Department of Transportation Division of Aviation is hiring for a Planning and Environmental Engineer position (having an engineering education or background is not a requirement of this position.)

This position will serve as NCDOT Aviation’s program manager for the administration and oversight of the State Aid to Airports Program and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Block Grant Program for North Carolina as it relates to planning and environmental requirements as well as:

• Oversees the preparation of issue papers on policies, procedures, and guidelines for planning and environmental program areas;
• Manages the division responsibilities under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) for general aviation airport projects and emerging technology projects statewide;
• Leads the completion of statewide or regional plans and planning efforts; and conducting studies and analyses regarding planning and development issues;
• Administers the state’s cooperative services agreement with the US Department of Agriculture to provide Wildlife Hazard management, training, and mitigation to NC airport.

Location – Wake County, NC (on RDU’s campus no less!)

Salary Range - $67,852.00 - $118,741.00 Annually
