Which day do you have off ? Does anybody have both days off ?

I have election day off.
I am also RJ today.

We work on Election Day, but quite a few of the people in the building are off. I'm off on Veterans' Day.

When I worked for a different county, we had both days off. I think that changed and that they work on Election Day.

This veteran has Veteran's Day as a paid holiday but because it's on a Friday this year and I don't normally work on Fridays, I also get Thursday the 10th of November (Semper Fi) off of work. This will be a nice three day work week followed by a 4 day weekend. If I had election day off, I might just have to take Wednesday off too and make it a 1 day work week.

And because of a conference, I'll only be in the office next week on Monday and Tuesday... then I get a few days off for Thanksgiving! I love November.

This veteran gets neither Veteran's Day nor Election Day off. The administration, however, very generously allows employees to take an hour of their own vacation time if they wish to vote.

My previous public sector job I got neither off.

This one, I get Veteran's Day off. I will spend it house hunting.

I have neither off. At a previous employer, we had Veteran's Day off.

I've never had election day off. However, it is mandatory for employers to allow you time to vote on election day. If I don't vote early, then I go after work.

Well, once again as self-employed I do not get any holidays. However, as I am doing work for the federal government and they will have the day off, I will too.

Veteran's Day. Which is nice this year, because it is a Friday. :D

When I worked for NYS, we got Veterans' Day off, and Election Day might have been a floating holiday (I would never take it as I voted before work). I now work for a college, so we get neither Election Day nor Veterans Day off because of the tight scheduling. That's okay because the college lumps a lot of the "minor holidays" together (Election Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, President's Day etc) as part of the entire week off between Christmas and New Year's, which means I can go somewhere on vacation if I want.

I believe it wise for government offices to be closed on Election Day -- no sense creating possible issues with campaigning, et cetera that day. Happily, I'm off but unhappily I'll be waiting on a plumber to undo some stuff Mrs. G did.

The office is also closed for what others refer to as Veteran's Day and I insist is Armistice Day or, minimally as our friends from Canada know it, Remembrance Day. ;)

Self-employed so neither day off or on. I've blocked out Veterans Day to observe my years of service but that may or may not happen.

I get an hour of administrative leave today to go cast my vote. My city manager's way of encouraging voting, allowing us to avoid crowds early/late at the polling places, while still keeping things open at city hall. I think it is pretty reasonable.

We get Veteran's Day off. :)

Veteran's Day is off.
Maybe I will go fishing before the rivers freeze too much more.

None of the above. I work for a real estate company, so we only get the big holidays off (New Years, Memorial, Independence, Labor, T-Giving, Black Friday, and Christmas), in addition to a floating holiday, which I usually use for Good Friday.

At the local government where I used to work, I can't remember if we got Veterans Day off, since I was always in school during that time of the year.
