How is it possible that every kid is "smarter than average" or "intellectually advanced" for their age? *eye roll*

*goes back to feeding Itty Bitty paste*

As seen locally on a Bumper Sticker:

My Juvenile Delinquent Kid
Just Beat Up Your Honor Roll Student

Moderator note:

split from RTDNTOTO

I've too have seen variants on the 'my kid beat up your honor roll kid' sticker.

Remember how those Calvin wizzing on the Ford logo were a thing back in the 90's? You couldn't look at a pickup truck without seeing one emblazoned on it (usually next to NRA sticker) I'm sure Bill Watterson made a fortune off those. You know with all the merchandising rights and......what do you mean he didn't make a dime, huh?

And around that same time, what was the deal with the Bad Boy, Nasty Girl, and Rude Dog window decals? What the heck were those supposed to convey?

Seen during lunch today:

Sometimes I wrestle with my demons
Sometimes we just snuggle

The only sticker that I will put on my vehicles is a smallish American flag on the back window. My truck as one and the wife's SUV-Crossover-ish thing has one. (How does one classify a Traverse/Acadia/Enclave from GM as it feels like it is on a car chassis)

On the tailgate to my 240 Wagon, I have:

Above the VOLVO logo:

A HARDLY ART sticker (Seattle based indie label) and Nipton, California tourist sticker my sister gave me.

Above the 240 emblem:

A little Italian flag and TACOCAT (seattle punk band) sticker.

Next to licence plate:

a NYCPBA (NYPD Police union) supporter sticker that my Grandpa gave me (one you can only get if you are related to an officer).

On the passenger side rear window:

an IPD Volvo/Swedish Flag decal, a vinyl logo for my preferred European car specialty shop.

Thats it, I feel no need to add more. Once these stickers become faded however, I will replace them with similar stickers of similar size. We'll see how they hold up.

related: since my 240 is a 1991 model, I wanted to add a NYPD Operation CAT (combat auto theft) decal to one of my back windows. Operation CAT was a program the NYPD launched circa 1990 that gave officers the right to stop any car with the decal, without reason, between Midnight and 5AM, the idea being it was a theft deterrent for owners who dont use their cars at those hours. When I found this fact out I decided against it, because I keep odd hours during the weekends and driving a 1991 Volvo makes me stand out enough :p I had wanted to add one of these stickers because they were on literally every car in New York during my childhood and I thought it would be a nice period appropriate touch.

I was going for stickers you've seen on other cars that make you chuckle/wince/facepalm. An American flag would not make me do that.

I was once behind a huge camo truck that had the words "Family GOD Guns" in huge letters across the back window. Then they had a picture of a deer that said "Buck It." I thought it was incredibly tacky. They also turned into Wal-Mart while I was on my way to work. I commented about it on Facebook and one of my mom's cousins got really offended since she assumed I was making a statement that Wal-Mart is a place for rednecks. I never said anything about it being redneck-y. I just said I wasn't surprised when that particular vehicle turned into Wal-Mart... she inferred the rest.

Ok, here are two I've seen rather recently:

Feed the Homeless to the Hungry (on a older model pickup truck, old guy driving)

Vaginas Are Way Cool!!! (on a small red car of some type driven by a young, goth looking girl as far as I could tell)

A co-worker had a sticker in the rear window of her pickup showing a pickup plowing into a crowd with "All Lives Splatter" next to it. She didn't get that it was deeply offensive, but enough people told her that she removed the sticker.

Wow. I'm all for some dark humor but really? I wouldn't do that just because it has the potential to really stir up some @#4% and lead to a confrontation you may not want.

My former brother-in-law had a bumper sticker that said "If guns cause crime then women cause prostitution". He's in federal law enforcement. :r:

A little over a year ago, our sheriff placed "In God We Trust" bumper stickers on all the marked cruisers. The stickers became very popular with the general public and appear on private vehicles.

I few weeks ago on my way home from work, I spotted a sticker on a private vehicle that read "I Trust In No God".

With the new vehicle, there are no stickers, nor will there be. The old car had a sticker from my alma mater and the local university.
