If you could spend one year in perfect happiness but afterward remember nothing of the experience would you do so? If not, why not?*

Why not? The only negative I see is if no memory of the previous year or if just the perfect happiness memories are forgotten.

*Which is more important: actual experiences, or the memories that remain when the experiences are over?

Actual experience at the time but I always have the memories. I think of my three trips to Europe and love to relive through memories.

Dude, I'd have to say "NO!" In the end, you forget everything for a year? No thanks. Imperfect happiness that I can still recall is better than some vague "knowing" that I was perfectly happy once, but I don't know why or how - I think that would be no use for me. That's just a year of my life gone.

No, because heroin is REALLY REALLY bad for you and the brain damage can be permanent.

Which is more important: actual experiences, or the memories that remain when the experiences are over?

You can't really know happiness without knowing sadness, so I'm going to pass on bliss without any memory. Probably the wrong choice, but it's my choice so, on we go.
