Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Friday

If the wallpaper is not bubbled or loose, you can skim coat over top of it. I ran into the same issues trying to remove it in our kitchen and ended up skim coating over the damage. I found out after the fact, as I removed the wall paper and messed up the underlying drywall. I could have saved myself some trouble and skim coated over it. It cheaper than tearing out the existing drywall and replacing it; and it's cheaper than putting 1/4" drywall over top.

That is exactly our plan. We are also going to sand down the locations where they overlapped.

1. Craving tacos al pastor.
2. Germany does not have good Mexican food.
3. I have kitten fever.
4. There is a chocolate festival a few towns over and we are not going.
5. St. Nicholas pays a visit tonight.

1) I thought St. Nick's Day was tomorrow?

2) Decorating this weekend. Hubby's not thrilled.

3) Ready for an adult beverage - large! :wine:

4) Thinking about getting my nails done.

5) My sister comes in less than 2 weeks!

1) gotta get serious about finishing putting up all the Christmas decorations this weekend
2) Chips and dip sounds good right now
3) If I time traveled back to 1975 I'm not sure whats the first thing I would do
4) Chuck E Cheese is just wrong
5) I'm fortunate not to suffer from significant dental problems thus far in this lifetime

1) It's going to be a multiple cups of coffee morning.

2) Busy day tomorrow, but should be calm Sunday.

3) Sister gets here in less than a week!

4) Getting my nails done at lunch.

5) I sent an error message (screen shot) to the GIS people. They are confused as to how I would have gotten it, since it's referring back to someone else's computer. So this afternoon I have a call with them to go through all the department GIS templates to see what the F is going on.

1. Should I play golf tomorrow?
2. That is not a typical question for December 13.
3. 56* tomorrow when it should be in the 30s.
4. Mrs. is really getting into tracking down vintage Shiny Brite ornaments.
5. We have accrued several this year.

1 - Christmas gathering plans have been made except for in-laws, who will change things at the last minute anyways
2 - I've bought a couple things for Mrs. P but I haven't found what I'm looking for
3 - put all the totes back in the attic last evening then pulled out the wrapping paper and ribbon
4 - making chili this weekend
5 - this week has been crazy from the beginning, at least today is calm (so far).

1. Maybe I should play golf too tomorrow h/t to @SlaveToTheGrind
2. The atmospheric river that hit the PNW this week did not do much in the rain shadow I live in. Still family is checking up on me, that's nice.
3. I moved in October and have boxes slated for my office. They are stacked in my apartment for now as the new building/office at my job wont be ready till Feb.
4. I work with a lot of Latinos... and speak more Spanish in City Hall than I ever have before. The song "La Chona" is currently in my head.
5. Dont have my kids this weekend. Thinking tonight I will watch a sad drama movie at the house. (That is not to say my mood is sad, however)

1) Looks like we will not have a White Christmas in Chicago this year. We will be in Chicago, but the snow won't. Although I get it. We are in crazy weather pattern right now. The low this weekend will be around 15 degrees and by mid week the high will be 70.

2) Oldest takes the ACT's tomorrow morning then is having a "Birthday Movie Marathon" tomorrow afternoon. 5 movies running one after another. He was going to do it in the kids TV room, but we don't allow food up there so we will let him have the living room area which is open to the kitchen.

3) It's good to see @zman posting on a regular basis again... even if he is an Av's fan... and they are stupid good this year.

4) Wife just about fell out of her chair when I told her about former coach Moore. I was surprised that she didn't hear about it sooner.

5) We didn't get a chance to do Taco Tuesday this week, so we are doing Fiesta Friday tonight.

1. Jagaurs
2. Pumas
3. Lions
4. Leopards
6. Polar Bear

1) It is nice an sunny today. Much better than the thunderstorm that we had last night. It was full of lightning and minor flooding on our roadways. Although it is below freezing this morning too.

2) We have several Christmas related events today that should be a lot of fun. I bought 60 packets of hot-coco. However the new guy is a bit on the angry side because I told his supervisor no when he asked about his 'ugly' Christmas sweater. Its not that it is ugly, it is because I know a couple people in the department will be offended and if we have elected officials walk through, they will be angry. I am sorry, but if one thinks they need to ask permission, perhaps it is an indication that it is not OK.

3) Tomorrow late morning our neighborhood is having a Neighborhood Christmas Breakfast. It sounds like it will be a late morning block party type of setup. Pajamas optional.

4) This morning's workout sucked... I was able to complete everything without too much issue, but I forgot my headphones at home. It is amazing how much difference headphones can make during a workout.

5) There are a couple people in here who seem to be angry with me. I swear I could post that the sky is blue and they are going to argue with me. Makes me think "He's an Angry Elf..." Oh well.

1. Put in my PTO for next Mon-Tues.
2. Wed-Fri office is closed.
3. Including the weekends, I will be off the clock for 9 days.
4. Forecast for the next 7 days -

5. Yeah, I'll be golfing again.

1 - just had lunch with The Girl & boyfriend
2 - a little slow, but there's a big issue that needs to be worked out due to the fire code on a project
3 - right now the weatherman is saying 68 degrees on Christmas Day
4 - need to get the golf clubs out again
5 - little Christmas presents & treats keep arriving.

1) Yesterday was stressful with Dad issues, and I'm still very tired today.

2) Just hanging with my sister tonight.

3) Tomorrow is errands and Date Night with Hubby!

4) Sunday is the in-laws family thing. Looks like most of the cousins are going to make it this year.

5) Three days of work next week.

1 - yes I'm here working
2 - NYE party went well with no major injuries, just full bellies & mild hangovers
3 - I have seen portions of a lot of football bowl games, but only a couple full games (except for yesterday)
4 - big decisions to come this year
5 - starting the year out with a good number.

1) Had a low-key, chill, safe NYE at home with Hubby and sis. Fireworks on TV and wine/champagne was had by all. :wine:

2) Sister left NYD and I'm sad. :'(

3) At work today. Light traffic, made it here in just under 30 minutes.

4) No huge plans this weekend. Laundry, groceries, and sleeping in. Probably start a new book.

5) Felt like a Monday this morning. My head is happy that the next 2 days are "off the clock".

1. Slow Friday at work.
2. Flexing Mon for Wed next week.
3. Birthday on Wed.
4. Brunch at a local eatery.
5. Afternoon at the aquarium where I'll likely watch the otters most of the time.

1. Grocery shopping after work. Used to do it on Saturday, but found that sapped motivation for the rest of the day. Better this way.
2. Hauling down the tree and decorations tomorrow. The tree is very dry. It is time.
3. Hope to get back to tiling the bathroom floor. Need the garage to sawcut the tile and temps should be favorable soon.
4. The stray that adopted us has mostly fit in as if he'd been here all along. That's him in my profile pic. So far, his health seems to ahve stabilized.
5. We start ZBA and PC meetings at 5:30PM beginning next week. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out, but I'm already excited to regain some of my evenings. Old PH signs here noted meetings used to start at 8:00PM. Holy sheet!
